TV-Byen is the former headquarters of national Danish broadcaster DR, located in Gladsaxe, approximately 9 kilometres northwest of central Copenhagen, Denmark. The 207,000 m2 site has been redeveloped with a mixture of offices, housing and retail after DR inaugurated their new headquarters, DR Byen in 2007.
The Radio House (Radiohuset) in Frederiksberg was completed as a new home for DR in 1945. The building was designed by Vilhelm Lauritzen. In the 1950s, with the increasing role of the television media, the building became too small. A design competition for a new headquarters in Gladsaxe, northwest of Copenhagen, was won by Vilhelm Lauritzen's studio. Their winning proposal was designed by Mogens Boertmann. [1]
The first phase of the project was inaugurated by Frederik IX in 1966. The second phase, which included the 14-story office tower, was inaugurated in 1970. The last phase, which included the News Building, was completed a few years later. The TV-Byen was home to DR's administration, television and film studios, costume department, workshops and with space for other activities. Most of DR's radio broadcasting as well as the DR Concert Hall remained in the Radio Building. DR's television evening news programme, TV Avisen, was also broadcast from the Radio House until 7 October 1983.
In 2006 and 2007, DR left TV-Byen, concentrating their activities in their new headquarters, DR Byen, in Ørestad, Copenhagen.
In 2000, the real estate developers Sjælsø Gruppen and Ejendomsselskabet St. Frederikslund purchased TV-Byen and Radiohuset from DR for DKK 780 million. [2]
The site in Gladsaxe covered an area of 207,000 m2 and comprised 30 buildings with a floor area of 100,000 m2. [3] The local plan for TV-Byen was adopted in 2005. [4] In 2009, Ernst & Young moved into the office tower. [5]

DR Koncerthuset by Jean Nouvel is a part of the new DR Byen, that houses the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, DR. The concert hall and the DR Town are located in the northern part of Ørestad – an ambitious development area in Copenhagen, Denmark. The concert complex consists of four halls with the main auditorium seating 1,800 people. It is the home of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. With a total surface of 25,000 m², the concert hall complex designed by Jean Nouvel includes a concert hall of 1800 people and three recording studios with variable acoustics. The scenography of the concert hall and three recording studios was designed with dUCKS scéno. The acoustic studies were realized by Nagata Acoustics.
The Eurovision Young Musicians 1986 was the third edition of the Eurovision Young Musicians, held at the Koncerthuset, in Copenhagen, Denmark on 27 May 1986. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Danmarks Radio (DR), musicians from five countries participated in the televised final. Despite the contest being held in Copenhagen, host country Denmark failed to qualify for the final alongside Germany, Austria, Israel, Belgium, Norway, Ireland, Sweden, Netherlands and Italy. The participant artists could not be older than 19 by the time of the contest. The finalists were all accompanied by the Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra under the leadership of Hans Graf.

Kalvebod Brygge is a waterfront area in the Vesterbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. The name also refers to a section of the Ring 2 ring road which follows the waterfront from Langebro in the north to the H. C. Ørsted Power Station in the south. The area is dominated by office buildings, Tivoli Conference Center, several hotels and the shopping centre Fisketorvet.
Amerika Plads is a public square and surrounding neighbourhood in the Østerbro district of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the result of a redevelopment of an area in the southern part of the former Freeport of Copenhagen into a mixed-use neighbourhood which consists of dwellings, offices and retail establishments, combining converted historic buildings and modern architecture. The former Free Port Station building was put in storage during the redevelopment and is now located in the middle of the square where it serves as a café. The area is to the west bounded by Kalkbrænderihavnsgade, part of a major thoroughfare, and to the east by Dampfærgevej connected to Kalkbrænderihavnsgade in both ends and separating Amerika Plads from America Quay, the western quay of the Southern Free Port dock. The name of the area, like that of the quay, is a reference to the large passenger ships which used to transport Danish emigrants to New York City during the first half of the 20th century.
Vilhelm Lauritzen Architects (VLA) is an architectural firm based in Copenhagen, Denmark. It was founded by Vilhelm Lauritzen, who headed the firm from its foundation in 1922 until 1969.
Radiohuset is the former headquarters of national Danish broadcaster DR, located on Rosenørns Allé in Frederiksberg, Copenhagen. The building complex was inaugurated in 1945 to a Functionalist design by Vilhelm Lauritzen and later expanded in 1958 and 1972. Vacated by DR when DR Byen was inaugurated in 2006, the buildings now house the Royal Danish Academy of Music as well as the Museum of Music once it reopens. The complex also contains a concert hall. The building was listed in 1994.

It occupies a rectangular space which is bounded on the other sides by University of Copenhagen's main building to the north, Nørregade to the west and pedestrianized Fiolstræde to the east.

Rosenørns Allé is a street located on the border between Frederiksberg and Nørrebro, on the west side of The Lakes, in Copenhagen, Denmark. The street branches from the south side of the busy thoroughfare Kampmannsgade-Åboulevard at the west end of the embankment which separates St. Jørgen's Lake from Peblinge Lake, runs west to Julius Thomsens Plads and then continues in a more northwesterly direction to Bülowsvej where it turns into Rolighedsvej and later Godthåbsvej before reaching Bellahøj in Brønshøj.

The street is lined by a mixture of converted industrial complexes from the beginning of the 20th century, building society developments and modern apartment buildings from the 2010s.
