TV12 is a subsidiary of Mediacorp. It operates the Suria , and Vasantham channels, which cater to specific groups in Singapore. It once operated Central and Okto. TV12 owns called Mediacorp EagleVision, Mediacorp Studios and the Mediacorp VizPro Entertainment.

Mediacorp Pte. Ltd. is Singaporean corporation that serves as the national public broadcaster for both radio and television. As a mass media conglomerate, it holds interests in radio broadcasting, television broadcasting and digital content creation. It runs 6 television channels, 11 radio stations, and an on-demand streaming service, MeWatch, making it the largest media business in Singapore. It is owned by Temasek Holdings, an investment company headquartered in Singapore.

Television in Singapore began on 15 February 1963. The public broadcaster, MediaCorp TV, has a monopoly on terrestrial television channels and is fully owned by government holding company Temasek Holdings. Local pay TV operators are StarHub TV and Singtel TV. The private ownership of satellite dishes is banned.

Channel 5 (Singapore) English television channel in Singapore

Channel 5 is a 24-hour Singapore English free-to-air nationwide terrestrial television channel. Its programming mainly consists of English language dramas, movies, sports, reality show, variety show, news, current affairs, children's programming and game shows. Local editions of imported programmes such as Singapore Idol, Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? and Deal or No Deal have also been aired on the channel.

Singapore Broadcasting Corporation Mass media conglomeration in Singapore

Singapore Broadcasting Corporation was a mass media conglomeration which dominated the television and radio broadcasting industry in Singapore from 1980 to 1994, holding a virtual monopoly. SBC was created on 1 February 1980 from the former government-owned Radio and Television of Singapore (RTS), which itself was founded on 9 August 1965.

On 31 December 2004, MediaCorp and SPH MediaWorks agreed to merge effective the following day. The merger is no longer in effect on 29 September 2017, when SPH divested from Mediacorp.

Central was a Singaporean English and Tamil language free-to-air television channel. Its programming schedule was composed of three timeshared channels on its frequency slot: Kids Central, Vasantham Central and Arts Central.

Suria (TV channel) Singaporean Malay language television channel

Suria is a Singaporean free-to-air channel owned by Mediacorp. The channel broadcasts popular Malay television series, either originally produced by Mediacorp or imported from Malaysia.

MOBTV

MOBTV was Singapore's first subscription-based video on demand service that provides viewers with access to various TV programmes via immediate digital streaming or download from an Internet connection. From 30 March 2010, MOBTV merged with xinmsn.com as a free video on demand service, together with Podcast.sg and xin.sg. In other words, MOBTV has ceased to exist. However, MOBTV Select is still available on mio TV on Channel 312 till 12 September 2012 and was shifted to Channel 509 as of 13 September 2012 and MobTV Select on Singtel mio TV service using Channel 509 will ceased transmission from 7 January 2014 at 2359hrs. MobTV Select was removed from mio TV Service with effect from 8 October at 3:00 PM.MobTV and MobTV Select names do not exist any more.

Vasantham (TV channel)

Vasantham is a Singaporean free-to-air television channel that is owned by Mediacorp. The network is focused towards the Singaporean Indian community in the country. It was originally launched on 1 September 1995 as Premiere 12. Tamil programming was included on 30 January 2000 when the channel was rebranded as Central as Vasantham Central, and was later rebranded again as an independent Tamil-language channel on 19 October 2008.

SPH MediaWorks

SPH MediaWorks Ltd was a free-to-air terrestrial television broadcaster in Singapore that operated two television channels: Channel U and Channel i. It merged with the city-state's long-established broadcasting company, Mediacorp, in 2004.

Okto on 5 is a daily children's program block on Mediacorp's Channel 5. The block airs daily during 5's morning and midafternoon time slots.

Channel i was a Singaporean English language free-to-air terrestrial television channel that was launched in 20 May 2001 as TVWorks. The channel was owned by SPH MediaWorks, a subsidiary of Singapore Press Holdings.
