Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium is an indoor arena in the Daan District, Taipei City. The building is the home venue for the Taipei Fubon Braves of the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG) and ASEAN Basketball League. [1] Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium opened on June 8, 2017, and seats 6,958 fans for Braves games. And it also becomes the home venue for the Taipei Taishin Mars of the T1 League. [2]

Opening

The arena had its grand opening on June 8, 2017. [3] The first game at the Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium took place on July 15, 2017, as the 2017 William Jones Cup. The Braves played their first regular season game there with a 92–71 win against the Kinmen Kaoliang Liquor on December 3, 2017.

The Taipei Fubon Braves are a professional basketball team, that currently plays in the Taiwanese P. League+, since the league's foundation in 2020. From 2014 to 2019, they played in the semi-professional Super Basketball League (SBL). They have also been part of the professional ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) since the 2019–20 ABL season.

The 2019–20 Super Basketball League was the seventeenth season of the Super Basketball League, which opened on December 14. The venues are distributed in Heping Basketball Stadium, Banqiao Stadium, Xinzhuang Stadium, Taoyuan Arena, Hsinchu Municipal Stadium, and Changhua County Stadium. This season, due to the withdrawal of the Dacin Tigers, the Taipei Fubon Braves to the ASEAN Basketball League, and the Golden Gate Winery Basketball Team was renamed the Kaohsiung Jeoutai Technology Basketball Team due to the change of sponsor to Jeoutai Technology. The participating teams are the Yulon Luxgen Dinos, Taoyuan Puyuan Architecture, Jeoutai Technology, Taiwan Beer and Bank of Taiwan. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic in the middle of the season, the star games in February and all events in the second half of the season were cancelled and closed games were adopted. Then, because the New Taipei City government closed the public venues on March 20, 2020, SBL was originally scheduled to suspend the game for two weeks, and subsequently changed to the Haoyu International Basketball Training Center as the venue for the competition. Under the influence of the pandemic, SBL became one of the few sports leagues that could sustain their season. Therefore, the broadcaster provided a viewing channel for global fans, including Twitter and YouTube, and cooperated with FIBA. In the live broadcast, there were a maximum of 847,000 viewership records on Twitter in the championship series, and also received media reports from The New York Times and ESPN.

The 2020–21 Taipei Fubon Braves season was the first season of the franchise in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG), its 7th in the Taipei City and playing home games at Taipei Heping Basketball Gymnasium. They are coached by Hsu Chin-Che in his fourth year as head coach.

The 2020–21 Formosa Taishin Dreamers season was the franchise's 4th season, its first season in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG). The Dreamers are coached by Kyle Julius in his second year as head coach. The 2022–23 P. League+ season is the 3rd season of the P. League+ (PLG). The regular season began on November 5, 2022, and ended on May 14, 2023. The playoffs started on May 19, 2023 and ended on June 14, 2023 after the Taipei Fubon Braves clinched their third consecutive champion.

The 2022–23 Taipei Fubon Braves season will be the franchise's third season in the P. LEAGUE+ (PLG), its 9th in Taipei City. The Braves are coached by Hsu Chin-Che in his sixth year as head coach. The Braves will also participate in 2023 East Asia Super League as the 2022 P. League+ champions.

The 2023–24 T1 League season is the third season of the T1 League, with the Kaohsiung Aquas, the New Taipei CTBC DEA, the Taichung Suns, the Tainan TSG GhostHawks, the Taipei Taishin Mars, and the TaiwanBeer Leopards participating in this competition.
