Tal Hutchins (born November 25,1949) is a Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates,representing the 3rd District since 2006. He earlier served from 1994 through 2000.
Ohio County is a county located in the Northern Panhandle of the U.S. state of West Virginia, and forms part of the Wheeling metropolitan area. As of the 2020 census, the population was 42,425. Its county seat is Wheeling. The county was formed in 1776 from the District of West Augusta, Virginia. It was named for the Ohio River, which forms its western boundary with the state of Ohio. West Liberty was designated as the county seat in 1777, serving to 1797.

Richard Thompson is a former Democratic member of the West Virginia House of Delegates, representing the 17th District since 2000. He served as Speaker of the House from January 2007 to June 2013. He earlier served as a Delegate from 1981 through 1983. He unsuccessfully ran for Governor of West Virginia in 2011, coming in second place behind acting Governor Earl Ray Tomblin. Thompson resigned from the House of Delegates in June 2013 after being appointed by Tomblin to serve as West Virginia Secretary of Veterans Assistance. Erikka Lynn Storch is a former Republican member of the West Virginia House of Delegates. She represented districts in the Northern Panhandle since 2011. In 2010, she announced her intentions to seek one of the two seats being vacated by outgoing Representative Orphy Klempa and Tal Hutchins. She faced off against future Representative Ryan Ferns, businessman Dolph Santorine, and attorney Shawn Fluharty in the general election. She placed first with nearly 5,000 votes. In 2022, Storch was re-elected to the WV House of Delegates after she defeated Democratic challenger Teresa Toriseva. On May 17, 2023, Storch announced she would be resigning from the House of Delegates, taking a job with American Electric Power (AEP).

Mitchell Carmichael is an American politician. He is a former Republican member of the West Virginia Senate representing District 4 from 2012 until his defeat in 2020. Prior to his service in the Senate, Carmichael served in the West Virginia House of Delegates representing District 12 from 2000 through 2012. Carmichael was also a candidate for Governor of West Virginia in the 2011 West Virginia gubernatorial special election. As President of the state Senate from January 2017 to January 2021, he held the title Lieutenant Governor of West Virginia. After his defeat in 2020, Governor Jim Justice appointed Carmichael as West Virginia's economic development director.

Charles Samuel Trump IV is an American lawyer and Republican member of the West Virginia Senate. He represents the 15th district, which covers parts of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia. He is a justice-elect of the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia, having been elected for a 12 year term beginning on January 1, 2025 in the May 2024 non-partisan election.
The 2020 West Virginia Democratic presidential primary was held on June 9, 2020 alongside the Georgia primary, as part of the Democratic Party primaries for the 2020 presidential election. It was originally scheduled for May 12, 2020, but was moved to June 9 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The West Virginia primary was a semi-closed primary, with the state awarding 34 delegates to the 2020 Democratic National Convention, of whom 28 were pledged delegates allocated on the basis of the primary results.
