Taneti Vanitha is an Indian politician,former Minister of Home Affairs,Prison,Fire Services and Disaster Management [1] in the Government of Andhra Pradesh and a Member of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Kovvur,West Godavari district. She got majority of about 25000 votes in the 2019 Indian general election. [2] She served as the Minister of Home,Prisons,Fire Services of Andhra Pradesh since 2022 till 2024.
Vanitha was elected as MLA for Gopalapuram on Telugu Desam Party ticket but defected to YSR Congress party in November 2012. [3] [4] She came out of TDP due to its stand on Andhra Pradesh bifurcation and then joined YSR Congress Party. In 2019,she contested from Kovvuru as YSRCP candidate and won with a majority of 25000 votes and was appointed as Minister of Women and Child Welfare in Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy ministry. [5] In April 2022 cabinet reshuffle,Vanitha was appointed as Minister for Home and Disaster Management. [6] [7] She lost her seat to Maddipati Venkata Raju of Telugu Desam Party by a margin of more than 25000 votes in General Elections 2024.

Bhuma Nagi Reddy was an Indian politician. He was elected in a by-election to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly in 1992 after the sudden death of his brother,Bhuma Sekhar Reddy,an MLA from Allagadda constituency in Kurnool district. In 1996,Reddy was the Telugu Desam Party candidate against Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao in the Nandyal Lok Sabha constituency election. He served in the 11th,12th and 13th Lok Sabhas. Reddy died in office on 12 March 2017 after a massive heart attack at his home in Allagadda.
