Tanglin Circus Fountain was a water fountain built in the Tanglin Circus roundabout in front of the Omni Marco Polo Hotel in Tanglin, Singapore. It was demolished in 1977.
Plans for a fountain to be built in Tanglin Circus was first announced in October 1965, and the fountain was completed in September 1966. [1] [2] The fountain cost $98,000 to build, being 160ft long with a 50ft diameter bowl, with the water in the fountain cascading into a 60ft diameter pool below. [3] [4] The fountain was the third of several fountains commissioned by Minister of Cultural and Social Affairs Othman Wok, and was constructed by Siemens. [5]
However, by the late 1970s, the traffic circle had been the cause of frequent traffic jams around the area. A decision was made by the government to demolish Tanglin Circus, along with the fountain. Both the circus and the fountain began being demolished in January 1977. [6] [7]

The Johor–Singapore Causeway is a 1.056-kilometre (0.66 mi) causeway consisting of a combined railway and motorway crossing that links the city of Johor Bahru in Malaysia across the Straits of Johor to the district and town of Woodlands in Singapore. It was the only land connection between the two from 1923 until 1998, when the Tuas Second Link opened. The distance between Singapore's Woodlands Checkpoint and Malaysia's Bangunan Sultan Iskandar is approximately 2.4 km (1.5 mi). It also serves as a water pipeline between the two countries, with untreated water being sent to Singapore, and some of the treated water being sent back to Malaysia.
Edmund William Barker was a Singaporean politician and lawyer who authored the Proclamation of Singapore. A member of the governing People's Action Party (PAP), he served in the Cabinet between 1964 and 1988. Barker also served as Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Singapore between 1963 and 1964, and Leader of the House between 1968 and 1985.

Tan Aik Huang is a Malaysian retired badminton player noted for his footwork and patience. He was a former All England Open champion, having won the men's singles title in 1966. Tan was a member of four Malaysian Thomas Cup teams including its world champion team of 1967. He also won numerous major international singles titles during the mid- and late 1960s including the Danish Open, the US Open, the Canadian Open, the Malaysian Open and the Singapore Open. Additionally, Tan holds the distinction of being the first Malaysian shuttler in the Commonwealth Games to win gold medals in two individual events. He is the elder brother of Tan Aik Mong.
Occasionally, some parts of Singapore are inundated by floods, usually in the form of flash floods that came about due to intense rainfall over a short period of time. Floods in Singapore are much less severe than floods in other countries, often only lasting a few hours before dissipating on its own.
Sentosa Musical Fountain, also known as the Magical Fountain of Sentosa, or as the Musical Fountain by locals, was a former musical fountain water feature and entertainment venue made by Waltzing Waters on Sentosa Island in Singapore. It was located on a now-demolished portion of the Imbiah Lookout entertainment zone on the island. The Musical Fountain was officially opened on 11 June 1982, and ceased operations 25 years later on 26 March 2007, and was demolished that same year. The venue arena could accommodate more than 5000 people. It hosted five different shows through the 25 years it had been in operation, including the famous Magical Sentosa show which ran during the last 5 years of the fountain's operations.

Tanglin railway station, also known as Tanglin Halt, was a railway station on the Singapore-Johore Railway which served Tanglin, as well as Pasir Panjang, from 1932 to 1983.
Tanglin Halt is a public housing estate, planning subzone and former industrial estate in Queenstown, Singapore. Most of the older buildings in the estate are set to be demolished by 2024 to make way for redevelopments under the Selective En bloc Redevelopment Scheme. It is the third housing estate to be redeveloped under the scheme.
Orchard Road Market, also known as Tang Leng Pa Sat and Tanglin Pa Sat, was a market on Orchard Road in Singapore. Built in 1891, the market was demolished in 1982 to make way for redevelopments along Orchard Road.
