Fife is a council area, historic county, registration county and lieutenancy area of Scotland. It is situated between the Firth of Tay and the Firth of Forth, with inland boundaries with Perth and Kinross and Clackmannanshire. By custom it is widely held to have been one of the major Pictish kingdoms, known as Fib, and is still commonly known as the Kingdom of Fife within Scotland. A person from Fife is known as a Fifer. In older documents the county was very occasionally known by the anglicisation Fifeshire.
Colin MacIntyre is a Scottish musician and novelist. A singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist, he has released five albums under the name Mull Historical Society as well as two albums under his own name. His most successful album, Mull Historical Society's Us (2003), reached number 19 in the UK Albums Chart. His debut novel, The Letters of Ivor Punch, was published in 2015.
The Proclaimers are a Scottish rock duo formed in 1983 by twin brothers Craig and Charlie Reid who were born on 5 March 1962. They came to attention with their 1987 single "Letter from America", which reached No. 3 in the United Kingdom, and the 1988 single "I'm Gonna Be ", which topped charts in Australia, Iceland and New Zealand. The Proclaimers have sold over 5 million albums worldwide.
Glenrothes is a town situated in the heart of Fife, in east-central Scotland. It is about 30 miles (48 km) north of Edinburgh and 30 miles (48 km) south of Dundee. The town had a population of 39,277 in the 2011 census, making it the third largest settlement in Fife and the 18th most populous settlement in Scotland. The name Glenrothes comes from its historical link with the Earl of Rothes, who owned much of the land on which the new town has been built; Glen was added to the name to avoid confusion with Rothes in Moray and in recognition that the town lies in a river valley. The motto of Glenrothes is Ex terra vis, meaning "From the earth strength", which dates back to the founding of the town.
F♯ A♯ ∞ is the debut studio album by Canadian post-rock band Godspeed You! Black Emperor. It was first released on August 14, 1997 through Constellation Records on vinyl and on June 8, 1998 through Kranky on CD. The CD version and the vinyl version have substantial differences between them, the CD version being considered the more definitive version, as it is more easily accessible. Recorded at the Hotel2Tango in the Mile End of Montreal, the album is devoid of traditional lyrics and is mostly instrumental, featuring lengthy songs segmented into movements. It was initially released in limited quantities, and distributed through live performances and developed a cult following via word of mouth.
Glenrothes is a UK Parliamentary constituency represented in the House of Commons. It was created for the 2005 general election.

Sergeant were a four-piece indie rock band from Glenrothes in Fife, Scotland. In 2007 they signed a contract with Mercury Records and played both the T in the Park and Glastonbury festivals that year. The band received good reviews for their live shows and attracted support from Jim Gellatly of Xfm Scotland and from Alan McGee, who called the group "a major talent".
Attic Lights are a Scottish indie rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 2005 by Kev Sherry, Colin McArdle and Jamie Houston, later joined by Tim Davidson and Noel O'Donnell. The four-part harmonies in a number of their songs have led to critical comparisons with Teenage Fanclub and The Beach Boys. Their guitar heavy powerpop has been compared to alternative rock bands such as Weezer, R.E.M. and The Lemonheads.
The 2008 Glenrothes by-election was a by-election held in Scotland on 6 November 2008 to elect a new Member of Parliament (MP) for the House of Commons constituency of Glenrothes in Fife, Scotland.
Oliver Sabin, formerly known as Unicorn Kid, is a Scottish electronic music/chip music composer and musician from Edinburgh, educated at Leith Academy. When asked about the name of the act, Sabin stated, "There’s no real story behind the name, it just kind of came about and fitted in with the fun, magical nature of the music." Sabin has had a number of BBC Radio 1 appearances including an early live session on the Vic Galloway BBC Radio 1 show and a BBC Maida Vale Studios session for Rob da Bank. In September 2014, he announced the end of Unicorn Kid to pursue a different alias that has yet to be announced.
Craig Thomson is a Scottish footballer who plays as a right-back for Cowdenbeath. He has also played at left-back and on the right wing. Thomson started his career in the Scottish Premier League with Heart of Midlothian, but was loaned to Lithuanian club FBK Kaunas after he was convicted of indecent behaviour involving children. Thomson has also represented the Scotland under-21 team.
Uncle John & Whitelock were a Scottish horror punk band from Glasgow. They were active from 2001 to 2006 and were noted for their live shows which incorporated elements of performance art.

Over The Wall was a pop-rock-folk band based in Glasgow, Scotland. The outfit consisted of multi-instrumentalists Ben Hillman and Gavin Prentice, a line-up which remained unaltered after its 2006 formation.
Star Wheel Press is a Scottish indie/folk/pop band from Aberfeldy, Scotland. It was formed in 2010 when the guitarist and banjo player Craig Milton met the singer and lyricist Ryan Hannigan at a gig by the Edinburgh indie pop band Aberfeldy in the town after which it is named.
The Last Battle were a Scottish alternative indie folk band, who formed in Edinburgh in 2009 around the songs of singer/songwriter Scott Longmuir. Their name derives from a C.S Lewis novel. They released two albums, Heart of the Land, Soul of the Sea (2010) and Lay Your Burden Down (2014).
The Mirror Trap were an alternative indie rock band from Dundee, Scotland. The band consisted of Gary 'The Panther' Moore on vocals, Michael 'John' McFarlane and Paul Markie on guitars, Paul 'Drums' Reilly on drums and Ben Doherty on bass. They were sometimes joined by Scott Duffy on additional percussion and vocals.
Randolph's Leap is an eight piece indie-pop band from Glasgow, Scotland, and signed to Lost Map Records as of 2014. Founded by frontman Adam Ross in 2006, members include Ross (guitar/vocals), Adam Florence (drums), Vicki Cole (bass), Andrew MacLellan (guitar), Heather Thikey (violin), Pete MacDonald (keyboards), Ali Hendry (trumpet) and Fraser Gibson (trombone).
Cora Bissett is a Scottish theatre director, playwright, actor and musician. As a director she has created Amada, Roadkill, Grit: The Martyn Bennett Story, Glasgow Girls and Room. As an actor she had regular appearances in the television programmes Rab C. Nesbitt and High Times. She is an associate director at the National Theatre of Scotland.
