Tanya Arnold (born 3 January 1977 [1] ) is a British sports journalist and former television presenter for BBC Look North. [2] [3] She was a presenter of the Rugby League World Cup 2022. [4] [5] In 2012 she joined the Super League Show, as one of Britain's first female sports presenters. [6] She began her career at Look North in 1998. [7] One of her first roles as a sports reporter was covering Leeds United football team. [8]

In 2021 she presented the inaugural Sporting Heritage Awards. [9]

Arnold grew up watching the BBC television sports show, Grandstand, which sparked in her the desire to work in sport. [8] She has credited Brian Noble, Peter Lorimer and Eleanor Oldroyd as mentors to her career. [8]

In January 2023, Arnold announced she was leaving BBC Look North to become a freelance champion of women's professional and elite sport. [7]

It was won by Wigan Warriors, who were crowned champions after beating Warrington Wolves 12-4. It was Wigan's 22nd Championship win and a new record for being champions. They are now 9 titles ahead of the next team.

It started on 15 January 2022 and ended, with the final at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 28 May.
