The Barelvi movement, also known as Ahl al-Sunnah wa'l-Jamaah is a Sunni revivalist movement following the Hanafi and Shafi'i schools of jurisprudence, with strong Sufi influences and with over hundreds of millions of followers in South Asia and also in parts of Europe, America and Africa. It is a broad Sufi-oriented movement that encompasses a variety of Sufi orders, including the Chistis, Qadiris, Soharwardis and Naqshbandis. They consider themselves to be the continuation of Sunni Islam before the rise of Salafism and Deobandi Movement.

This organization of Qawmi Madrasahs of Bangladesh is also known as the "Befaqul Madaris". It is an extension of the process that formed the Wafaq ul Madaris Al-Arabia, Pakistan in 1957. "Bangladesh Qawmi Madrasah Education Board" is the largest federation of Islamic seminaries in Bangladesh. Qawmi educational system practices originate from the traditional Muslim educational system of Bangladesh. At present, there are more than 65,000 Qawmi Madrasahs in Bangladesh. Deobandi School of thought is supposed to be the most powerful and dominated school of thought in Bangladesh.

It has a Darul Ifta—(a department of legal ruling under Islamic jurisdiction) or generally collegium of muftis—where the girls are trained to become muftis. The panel has been called as one of the earliest in the world and particularly among Indian Muslims. the seminary offer courses such as; Alima is equivalent to Higher Secondary School Certificate and Fazila is equivalent to Bachelor's degree and are recognized by most of the universities across India.
Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM) is an Islamic organization in the state of Kerala founded in 1950. The organization is part of the Islamic reformist Mujahid Movement and follows the principles of Salafism. The Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen was formed as a result of renaissance activities among Keralite Muslims led by scholars and clerics such as Sheikh Hamadani Thangal, K.M. Moulavi and Vakkom Moulavi and E. Moidu Moulavi and Ummer Moulavi. Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen is considered as the successor of Kerala Muslim Aikya Sangam, the first Muslim organization in the state of Kerala, founded in 1924. The Mujahid movement laid the foundations of Islamic renaissance in Kerala by campaigning against corrupted practices of the Sufi orders, superstitions, false beliefs, polytheism etc, and called for the revival of true Islamic practices to the Muslim community in Kerala which had until then been severely lacking in crucial aspects of religious and socio-civic knowledge. The Mujahids consider themselves as proponents of authentic Islamic reform, pursuing a purified concept of Tawhid.
Wahabpora is a village in district Budgam in Indian administered union territory of Jammu and Kashmir, India. Situated on the banks of Aihaji River, Wahabpora is about 10 kilometres (6.2 mi) away from the district headquarters Budgam and 21 kilometres (13 mi) from Srinagar, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir. The seminary has 36 departments including "Kulyatush Shariyah". It also runs female schools including "Jamia Umm Habībah lil-Banāt", "Jamia Hafsa lil-Banāt" and "Al-Bairuni Girls Secondary School".
Tanzeem ul Madaris or Tanzeem-ul-Madaris Ahl-e-Sunnat is a board of education working with over 15000 Sunni madrassas across Pakistan. It is a key seminary board in the country affiliated with the Barelvi movement within Sunni Islam. Grand Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman of Jamia Naeemia Lahore is the President of the board. The total strength of the students appeared in its examination was 600000 lac in 2013. Pakistan's Higher Education Commission recognizes the degrees awarded by madrassas affiliated to Tanzeem ul Madaris.
