Tarpan is a musical poetry series presented by poet and presenter Kumar Vishwas. [1] [2] It is an appreciation of poets who are now dead, presented through readings of their work by Vishwas against a background of music. The series has its origin in Vishwas dedicating a song to Bharat Bhushan via his poem "Yah Asangati". [3] This came as an afterwork of Mahakavi series that was aired on ABP News which appealed to Hindi audiences. [4]
Poets featured include Bharat Bhushan, Bhawani Prasad Mishra, Ramdhari Singh Dinkar, Dushyant Kumar, Suryakant Tripathi Nirala, Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Mahadevi Verma, Baba Nagarjun, Jaishankar Prasad, Subhadra Kumari Chauhan, Maithili Sharan Gupt, Dharamvir Bharati and Sachchidananda Vatsyayan.
The videos of the series are made available on video sharing platform YouTube. [5] The audio of the same are made available on different audio platforms like Saavn and Gaana. [6] [7]
There was controversy when Vishwas and actor Amitabh Bachchan engaged in a war of words on Twitter. Bachchan alleged that Vishwas had infringed his copyright and said that he would seek legal remedy if the material was not removed from YouTube. Vishwas replied by saying he should have received appreciation for featuring the poem, written by Bachchan's father. The video was taken down and compensation paid. [8] [9]
Toofan is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language superhero film directed by Ketan Desai, starring Amitabh Bachchan in a double role as twin brother. One is the title character Toofan, a superhero who uses his crossbow as a weapon, and the other is a magician named Shyam. Salim Khan wrote the story. Harivansh Rai Bachchan was an Indian poet and writer of the Nayi Kavita literary movement of early 20th century Hindi literature. He was also a poet of the Hindi Kavi Sammelan. He is best known for his early work Madhushala. He was also the husband of social activist, Teji Bachchan, father of Amitabh Bachchan and Ajitabh Bachchan, and grandfather of Abhishek Bachchan. In 1976, he received the Padma Bhushan for his service to Hindi literature.
Khoon Pasina is a 1977 Hindi action crime film. The movie is produced by Baboo Mehra and directed by Rakesh Kumar. The movie stars Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Rekha, Nirupa Roy, Asrani, Aruna Irani, Bharat Bhushan and Kader Khan. The music is by Kalyanji Anandji. This was another "super hit" movie of Amitabh Bachchan. A comedic action scene featuring Bachchan fighting a tiger as well as a taciturn Vinod Khanna are the highlights of the movie.
Jaadugar (transl. Magician) is a 1989 Indian Hindi-language fantasy comedy film directed and produced by Prakash Mehra starring Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada, Aditya Pancholi, Amrita Singh, Amrish Puri and Pran in the lead roles. Mehra and Bachchan collaborated for the eighth and final time on this movie.
