Tasha K faced a lawsuit from rapper Cardi B in a 2019, filed in the US District of Georgia. She was found liable by the jury and directed to pay $4 million in damages. [5] Tasha K later filed for bankruptcy, [11] however Cardi B alleged that Tasha K kept offshore accounts, [12] [13] and the judge ruled that Tasha K pay Cardi B damages regardless of the bankruptcy claim. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) and Tasha K were sued by singer R. Kelly for in a case that he alleged the BOP sold his digital prison records, including his phone calls to Tasha K. [20] Kelly’s lawyers alleged negligence, invasion of privacy, intentional infliction of emotional distress, civil theft, civil conspiracy, and violation of the computer fraud and Abuse Act. [21] The Department of Justice's investigation found that at least 60 officers accessed his records, with one officer allegedly providing them to Tasha K. [7] Kelly claims the leaks included recordings of his phone calls with his legal team and girlfriend, which left him isolated and fearful to communicate with his attorneys. [22]
Soulja Boy sued Tasha K and reality star William The Baddest for defamation, violation of privacy, amongst other allegations over homosexual allegations they spread about him. [23] [24] Although Soulja Boy vehemently denied the allegations, [25] [26] on Tasha K's podcast, William The Baddest claimed that he had a sexual encounter with Soulja Boy, describing explicit details. Tasha K won in a $360 million lawsuit brought by Bishop Lamor Whitehead, known as "Pastor Bling Bling". [29] Whitehead sued her for defamation and invasion of privacy over claims she made on her podcast, Unwine With Tasha K, regarding his purchase of a $2 million mansion with just $10. The case resolved a defamation claim brought by Stephen Barrett, Terry Polevoy, and attorney Christopher Grell against Ilena Rosenthal and several others. Barrett and others alleged that the defendants had republished libelous information about them on the internet. Andrew Rector sued Major League Baseball, the New York Yankees, ESPN and their MLB announcers for broadcasting images of him sleeping at a game at Yankee Stadium between the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox and allegedly making defamatory comments about him. Rector sued for $10 million for "defamation and intentional infliction of emotional distress". The case was dismissed by Judge Julia Rodriguez, who ruled that the statements made were not defamatory.

The Adult Survivors Act (ASA) is New York State legislation enacted in May 2022 which amends state law to allow alleged victims of sexual offenses for which the statute of limitations has lapsed to file civil suits for a one-year period, from November 24, 2022, to November 24, 2023. The act thus expands the ability of plaintiffs to sue for sexual assault and unwanted sexual contact in the workplace.
