Tashinga Musekiwa (born 10 February 2000) is a Zimbabwean cricketer who plays for Zimbabwe cricket team and Mid West Rhinos in domestic cricket. [1]
He made his first-class debut for Mid West Rhinos against Mountaineers on 14 January 2023 during the 2022–23 Logan Cup. [2] He was included in Mid West Rhinos squad for the 2023–24 Zimbabwe Domestic Twenty20 Competition which was played in March 2024. He was retained by Rhinos ahead of the 2023–24 Logan Cup and 2024–25 Logan Cup. [3] [4] He made his List A debut for Mid West Rhinos against Matabeleland Tuskers on 26 April 2021 during the 2020–21 Pro50 Championship. [5] He made his T20 debut for Rhinos against Southern Rocks on 11 April 2021 during the 2020–21 Zimbabwe Domestic Twenty20 Competition. [6]
In March 2024,he was named in Zimbabwe's Emerging squad for the 2023 African Games. [7]
In October 2024,he was named in Zimbabwe's squad for the 2024 Men's T20 World Cup Africa Sub-regional Qualifier B which was held in Kenya. [8] He made his Twenty20 International (T20I) debut for Zimbabwe against Seychelles during the that tournament. [9] In November 2024,he was named in Zimbabwe's squad to face off Pakistan in a three match bilateral home ODI series. [10] [11]
Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC),previously known as the Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) until 2004,is the governing body for the sport of cricket in Zimbabwe. The Southern Rocks is one of five Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are a first-class cricket team,based in the Masvingo and Matabeleland South area. They play their home matches at Masvingo Sports Club in Masvingo. The team initially ceased to play after the 2013–14 season. In their 47 first-class matches they won 3,lost 27,and drew 17. However,in December 2020,Zimbabwe Cricket confirmed they would be one of the teams playing in the 2020–21 Logan Cup Southern Rocks won their first Logan Cup trophy in the same 2020–21 season.
The Mashonaland Eagles is one of five cricket Zimbabwean cricket franchises. They are based in the Harare Metropolitan and Mashonaland Central area and play both first-class and limited overs cricket. They play their home matches at Harare Sports Club in Harare.
