Tatiana Karina Urrutia Herrera [1] (born 17 September 1982) is a Chilean lawyer who was elected as a member of the Chilean Constitutional Convention.
Matilde Urrutia Cerda was the third wife of Chilean poet Pablo Neruda,from 1966 until his death in 1973. They met in Santiago in 1946,when she was working as a physical therapist in Chile. She was the first woman in Latin America to work as a pediatric therapist. Urrutia was the inspiration behind Neruda's later love poems beginning with Los Versos del Capitan in 1951,which the poet withheld publication until 1961 to spare the feelings of his previous wife;as well as 100 Love Sonnets which includes a beautiful dedication to her.
Urrutia,meaning "distant,far away" in Basque is the name of a family that originated in Zumárraga in the province of Gipuzkoa,and then spread out throughout the Basque country,and eventually throughout the Americas and the Philippines.

The last major rebellion of the indigenous Mapuches of Araucanía took place in 1881,during the last phase of the Occupation of Araucanía (1861–1883) by the Chilean state. It was planned by Mapuche chiefs in March 1881 to be launched in November the same year. Mapuche support for the uprising was not unanimous:Some Mapuche factions sided with the Chileans and others declared themselves neutral. The organizers of the uprising did however succeed in involving Mapuche factions that had not previously been at war with Chile. With most of the attacks repelled within a matters of days Chile went on the next years to consolidate its conquests.

The capture of the frigate Esmeralda was a naval operation conducted on the nights of 5 and 6 November 1820. A division of boats with sailors and marines of the First Chilean Navy Squadron,commanded by Thomas Cochrane,stealthily advanced towards Callao and captured the ship through a boarding attack. Esmeralda was the flagship of Spanish fleet and the main objective of the operation. She was protected by a strong military defense that the royalists had organized in the port.
