Taulant Balla (born 12 August 1977) is an Albanian Socialist Party politician and Member of Parliament (MP) for Librazhd. He was first elected MP in the 2005 general election. He has held the offices of General Secretary and Parliamentary group leader of the Socialist Party. Currently,he is the Minister of State for Relations with Parliament.
He was first elected MP in the 2005 general election and then for two other legislatures successively as a member of the parliamentary group of the Socialist Party. [1] [2]

In 2020,Balla proposed a measure to adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism and promise to fight anti-Jewish prejudice. [4] The measure was accepted unanimously by the Parliament of Albania,and Albania became the first Muslim country to formally adopt the definition. [4]
In October 2018,many Albanian public figures and politicians were alleged to have been part of a plagiarism scandal,involving their Masters and Ph.D. theses. The assertions were begun by Taulant Muka,a young epidemiologist educated in the Netherlands. [5] The assertions sparked nationwide protests from students of public universities,leading to a vetting for all academic titles held by public figures,state officials,and politicians. The PhD thesis of Balla,entitled The Reform of Decision-Making System in the European Union,supervised by Professor George Poede at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iaşi,Romania,was named in the scandal. [6] [7] In 2019,following an accusation of plagiarism,the university forwarded the charge to the consultative body of the ministry of national education that investigates such accusations. [8] [9]
Balla is married to Iris Pekmezi and has two children,a boy,Robin and a girl,Melani. Balla is a supporter of German football club Bayern Munich. [10]

Paul Bujor was a Romanian zoologist,physiologist and marine biologist,also noted as a socialist writer and politician. Hailing from rural Covurlui County,he studied biology in France and Switzerland,where he was attracted by left-wing ideas;his evolutionary biology,informed by the work of Carl Vogt,veered into Marxism and irreligion. Returning to the Kingdom of Romania,he was a junior member of the Romanian Social Democratic Workers' Party,active on its moderate wing. He earned the critics' attention in the 1890s as a short story writer with a socialist and pacifist message,but only returned to fiction writing briefly,in the 1930s. An award-winning ichthyologist,Bujor was hired by the University of Iași,where he taught for 41 years,and throughout the period worked on documenting the Black Sea fauna,and made discoveries concerning the environment of Techirghiol Lake. He inaugurated the Romanian study of animal morphology,while also contributing to histology,embryology,and parasitology,and gave popular lectures on evolution and physical culture.
George Poede is a Romanian political philosopher,professor emeritus at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași. In 2016 he was nominated by the Ministry of National Education of the Republic of France for the Ordre des Palmes Académiques.

Ogerta Manastirliu is an Albanian Socialist Party politician. She is the Minister of Education,Sport and Youth of Albania since 12 September 2023 and Member of Parliament (MP) for Tirana. On 13 March 2017,she was appointed as Minister of Health. She held the office until 21 May 2017,due to the general election.

The 2018–2019 student protests in Albania were a series of street protests,demonstrations and online activism events held by the students of the public universities from December 2018 until February 2019,to oppose the high tuition fees. Students across Albania rallied against the moves that were made by the Albanian government to increase the cost of university education,by introducing new fees for exams. The fee comes on top of the dramatically risen university fees,which have failed to lead to any improvement in public education.
Anton Carpinschi is a Romanian political philosopher,professor emeritus at Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iași,and first head of the chair of politology of this university after the Romanian Revolution of 1989. He is an expert in political ideologies and international organizations,and the author of many publications in these fields. In December 2014 Carpinschi was awarded the 2012 Mircea Florian prize of the Romanian Academy for his book on recognition culture and human security,and its contribution to the development of Romanian culture and science in the fields of philosophy,theology,psychology and pedagogy.
