Taya Hanson (born June 14, 2000) is a Canadian college basketball player for the Oregon Ducks in the Pac-12 Conference and a member of the Canada women's national basketball team.
Hanson began her collegiate career at Arizona State. On January 1, 2021, she tied the ASU program record with seven three-pointers made in a game against California. [1] She was subsequently named Canada Basketball’s Player of the Week for the week ending January 3, 2021. [2] [3] During the 2020–21 season in her junior year, she Led ASU in scoring (12.6), 3-pointers (62), steals (1.4) and free throw percentage (84.8), and ranked third in rebounding (4.3 rpg) and fourth in assists (1.4). She was subsequently named All-Pac-12 honorable mention and Pac-12 All-Defense honorable mention. [4]
On March 29, 2022, Hanson announced she would enter the transfer portal. [5] During her career at ASU she appeared in all 114 games while making 62 starts. She recorded 739 career points, 296 rebounds and 144 three-pointers made. [6] On April 5, 2022, she announced she was transferring to Oregon for the 2022–23 season. [7]
Hanson has been a member of the Canada women's national basketball team since 2015. She first competed at the 2015 FIBA Americas U16 Championship and won a gold medal. [8] She represented Canada at the 2018 FIBA Under-18 Women's Americas Championship where she averaged 11.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 1.7 steals in six games and won a silver medal. [9] On July 12, 2019, she was named to team Canada for the 2019 FIBA Under-19 Women's Basketball World Cup. She averaged 10.7 points in seven games. [10]
On July 18, 2022, she was named to team Canada to compete at the 3x3 basketball tournament at the 2022 Commonwealth Games. [11] She recorded 20 points and 23 rebounds in six games during the tournament and won a gold medal. Katherine Burkhart is an American, former collegiate All-American, retired professional All-Star softball pitcher and softball coach. She played college softball at Arizona State, and won a national championship with the team in 2008 and was named Most Outstanding Player. Burkhart holds the career records in wins, strikeouts, perfect games, WHIP, innings pitched and strikeout ratio for the school. She also ranks in several career pitching categories and the top-10 for strikeouts and perfect games for both the Pac-12 Conference and the NCAA Division I. She has also pitched for the USA Softball team. She also helped remove snakes from a plane that was bound from Hawaii to Phoenix in 2023.
Charli Turner Thorne is a former head coach for the Arizona State Sun Devils women's basketball team and current assistant coach for the Phoenix Mercury of the WNBA. She has coached for 28 seasons from 1993 to 2022. She is the winningest Sun Devil coach since the team was established and as of 2019, stood as No. 2 all-time in the Pac-10/Pac-12 for career wins.
Kaitlin Elizabeth Cochran is an American, former collegiate four-time first team All-American, retired softball player. She attended Rosary High School and Arizona State University from 2006 to 2009, where she won the 2008 Women's College World Series title. Also with United States women's national softball team, she won four World Cup of Softball crowns. She holds various records for the Sun Devils in the Pac-12 Conference. She was drafted first overall in the National Pro Fastpitch but elected not to play. She is also one of nine NCAA Division I players to bat .400 with 200 RBIs, 50 home runs and an .800 slugging percentage for a career.
Krista Lynn Donnenwirth is an All-American softball player. She attended Capistrano Valley High School. After graduating from high school, she went on to attend Arizona State University, where she plays shortstop and third base.
Jordan Bachynski is a Canadian former professional basketball player. He played college basketball for the Arizona State Sun Devils. As a senior in 2014, he was the leading shot blocker in NCAA Division I and was named the defensive player of the year in the Pac-12 Conference.

The Sun Devils, led by twenty second year head coach Charli Turner Thorne, play their games at Wells Fargo Arena and were members of the Pac-12 Conference. They finished the season 22–11, 10–7 in Pac-12 play to finish in fifth place. They advanced to the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 women's tournament where they lost to UCLA. They received an at-large bid to the NCAA women's tournament where they defeated UCF and Miami (FL) in the first and second rounds before losing to Mississippi State in the sweet sixteen.

Jazmin Pamela Shelley is an Australian college basketball player for the Nebraska Cornhuskers of the Big Ten Conference.
