Tayfun E. Tezduyar is a mechanical engineer. He is known for his studies on the techniques of stabilizing the finite element methods.
Tezduyar obtained his master's degree and doctorate at the California Institute of Technology in 1978 and 1982, respectively. He was then a postdoctoral fellow at Stanford University prior to joining the University of Houston faculty in January 1983. Tezduyar assumed an associate professorship at the University of Minnesota in 1987, and was named a full professor in 1991. In 1997, Tezduyar was appointed Distinguished McKnight University Professor. He left Minnesota for the James F. Barbour Professorship in Mechanical Engineering at Rice University in 1998. [1] [2] Tezduyar was listed as an ISI highly cited researcher in 2016. [3] Tezduyar chaired the Applied Mechanics Division of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2011, and was awarded its Ted Belytschko Applied Mechanics Award in 2018. In 2019, he was awarded the Computational Mechanics Award by the Asian Pacific Association for Computational Mechanics. [4] Since 2017, in addition to his position at Rice University, he has been working as a Professor at the Science and Engineering Faculty of Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan.
Romesh C. Batra is a University Distinguished Professor and Clifton C. Garvin Professor of Engineering Science and Mechanics at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Blacksburg, Virginia. He was born in Village Dherowal, Punjab, India. His family migrated from Dherowal to Shahabad Markanda, Haryana, India after India became an independent country. The Applied Mechanics Award is an award given annually by the Applied Mechanics Division of American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) "to an outstanding individual for significant contributions in the practice of engineering mechanics; contributions may result from innovation, research, design, leadership or education." The Award is presented at the Applied Mechanics Annual Dinner at the ASME Congress. In 2008, the Award was renamed to the Ted Belytschko Applied Mechanics Award.

Junuthula N. Reddy is a Distinguished Professor, Regent's Professor, and inaugural holder of the Oscar S. Wyatt Endowed Chair in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA.[1] He is an authoritative figure in the broad area of mechanics and one of the researchers responsible for the development of the Finite Element Method (FEM). He has made significant seminal contributions in the areas of finite element method, plate theory, solid mechanics, variational methods, mechanics of composites, functionally graded materials, fracture mechanics, plasticity, biomechanics, classical and non-Newtonian fluid mechanics, and applied functional analysis. Reddy has over 620 journal papers and 20 books and has given numerous national and international talks. He served as a member of the International Advisory Committee at ICTACEM, in 2001 and keynote addressing in 2014.[2][3]

Raymond Morris Bowen is an American academic. He served as the 21st president of Texas A&M University from 1994 until 2002. He served as Interim President of Oklahoma State University (OSU) from 1993 until 1994, and Provost and VP for Academic Affairs at OSU from 1991 until 1993. He was Dean of Engineering at the University of Kentucky from 1983 until 1989. At The University of Kentucky, he also served as Director of the Center for Robotics and Manufacturing Systems and Director of the Center for Applied Energy Research. Bowen was Chair of Mechanical Engineering at Rice University from 1972 until 1977.
