Taylor Accursi (born March 2, 1995) is a Canadian ice hockey forward who is currently a free agent. She most recently played in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) with the Boston Pride. [1]
During high school, she played for the Burlington Barracudas of the Provincial Women's Hockey League.
From 2013 to 2017, she attended Mercyhurst University in the United States, and played with the Mercyhurst Lakers women's ice hockey program in the College Hockey America (CHA) conference of the NCAA Division I. Across 123 games, she scored a total of 38 points. After struggling to produce in her first three seasons at Mercyhurst – she recorded only 15 points from the 2013–14 season to the 2015–16 season – she had a breakout senior campaign, scoring 23 points in 35 games of her final season. After graduating, she planned to retire from ice hockey and become a police officer, until her sister convinced her to try out for the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League (NWHL; rebranded as PHF in 2021). [3] She scored her first career NWHL goal in October 2017 in a 3–2 victory over the Connecticut Whale, the opening goal of the 2017–18 NWHL season.
In the 2019–20 season, she put up 25 points in 24 games, including 16 goals, and finished in the league's top-5 scorers. Her contributions were not enough to carry the Beauts to the playoffs and they were eliminated in the play-in game against the Whale before the playoff semi-finals. [4] She was named to Team Dempsey for the 2020 NWHL All-Star Game. [5] She scored a career-high four goals in a single game in the 2019 Buffalo Believes Classic, the NWHL's inaugural outdoor game, scoring all four in the third period to bring the Beauts back from a three-goal deficit (the Riveters ultimately won the game 7–4). She re-signed with the Beauts for the 2020–21 NWHL season, the first player on the team to re-sign and was named team captain. However, after being unable to secure a full two weeks off her job outside of hockey, she was forced to opt-out of the bubble season. [7]
Often described as a natural goalscorer, Accursi has been noted for her speed, acceleration, and her stickhandling skills. [8] [9] In 2017, Nate Oliver, who would later become Beauts' general manager, compared her stickhandling to Pavel Datsyuk, stating that "like Houdini, she is a bit of an escape artist. A small opening and, zoom, she’s gone." [10] When asked to describe her own style of play, she stated that "I like to score goals... definitely score goals." [11] She has also received attention for her goal celebrations. [12] [13]
Outside of hockey, Accursi works as a police officer for the Ontario Provincial Police. [14] Her sister, Hunter Accursi, also plays for the Beauts. [15] She is related to former National Lacrosse League player Mike Accursi. [16]

Kelley Steadman is an American retired ice hockey player, currently serving as an ice hockey development ambassador for Lightning Made, the community hockey department of the Tampa Bay Lightning. As a member of the United States' women's national team, she won two IIHF World Women's Championship gold medals, in 2011 and 2013. She played with the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL), Tornado Dmitrov of the Russian Women's Hockey League, and the Buffalo Beauts of the National Women's Hockey League.
Megan Bozek is an American ice hockey player and member of the United States national team. She most recently played with the KRS Vanke Rays of the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) during the 2020–21 season.
The Premier Hockey Federation, abbreviated PHF, was a women's professional ice hockey league in the United States and Canada that operated from March 2015 until June 2023. The league was established in 2015 as the National Women's Hockey League, abbreviated NWHL, at which time it comprised four league-owned teams. Over time, some teams gained independent ownership and the number of teams grew to seven: the Boston Pride, Buffalo Beauts, Connecticut Whale, Metropolitan Riveters, Minnesota Whitecaps, Montreal Force, and Toronto Six.
The Boston Pride was a professional women's ice hockey team based in Boston, Massachusetts. They were one of the four charter franchises of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF), formerly the National Women's Hockey League. The Pride played at Warrior Ice Arena, which is also the practice facility for the Boston Bruins of the NHL. They won the inaugural Isobel Cup in 2016 and became the first professional women's ice hockey team to win three championship titles when they claimed consecutive victories in 2021 and 2022. The team folded at the end of the 2023 season, when the PHF's assets were purchased and the league dissolved.
The Buffalo Beauts were a professional ice hockey team in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). They played in Amherst, New York, a suburb of Buffalo, at the Northtown Center.
Kelly Babstock is a Canadian-American ice hockey player who currently plays with the Metropolitan Riveters of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She has Ojibwe roots and is originally from Little Current on Manitoulin Island, part of the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory. Babstock played collegiate ice hockey with the Quinnipiac Bobcats and, as of September 2021, remains the top point scorer in the program’s history. In the National Women's Hockey League, she played with the Connecticut Whale from 2015–2018 and with the Buffalo Beauts during the 2018–19 season. In the Whale's inaugural game on October 15, 2015, she became the first Canadian-born player to score a goal in a NWHL regular season game.
Kourtney Midori Kunichika is an American former professional ice hockey forward, who played for the Buffalo Beauts in the NWHL. She is the third highest scorer in Beauts history.
Shiann Darkangelo is an American ice hockey player who currently plays with the Toronto Six of the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF). She has played at the international level with Team USA and won gold at the 2016 IIHF Women's World Championship with the team. At the NCAA Division I level, she accumulated 42 points with the Syracuse Orange women's ice hockey program during the 2011–12 and 2012–13 seasons and registered 60 points with the Quinnipiac Bobcats women's ice hockey program during the 2013–14 and 2014–15 seasons. She was team captain of the Toronto Six roster that won the 2023 Isobel Cup championship.
