Edward Paul Donato (born April 28, 1969) is an American former ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL), and is currently the head coach at Harvard University. [1] Born in Boston, Massachusetts, Donato grew up in Dedham, a suburb to the southwest. His son Ryan was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft and currently plays with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL.

Playing career

Donato was selected 98th overall in the 1987 NHL Entry Draft by the Boston Bruins. He played his high school hockey at Catholic Memorial, college hockey at Harvard University, and then moved up to the NHL for the 1991–92 season. Donato played 796 career NHL games, scoring 150 goals and 197 assists for 347 points. During his career, Donato played for the Bruins, New York Islanders, Ottawa Senators, Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, Dallas Stars, Los Angeles Kings, St. Louis Blues, and New York Rangers.

He played his youth hockey for the Hyde Park Eagles, a Boston neighborhood organization, where a banner still hangs honoring his time playing for Hyde Park Youth Hockey.

Donato is the second professional hockey player to appear on the show The Price Is Right (winning his way on-stage and making it to the Showcase Showdown), the first player in the NHL to appear.

Donato is currently the head coach of his alma mater, Harvard University.

Donald Clarke Sweeney is a Canadian former ice hockey defenceman who played over 1,100 games in the National Hockey League (NHL), mostly with the Boston Bruins. He ranks among the top ten in many Bruins team statistics, including fourth overall in total games played. After retiring from hockey following the 2003–04 season, he worked briefly as a broadcaster before rejoining the Bruins as a team executive in 2006. Carl Joshua Young is an American former professional ice hockey right winger who played 44 games in the National Hockey League (NHL) in 1992–93 and competed in the 1992 Winter Olympics. A decorated college athlete, Young played four seasons with the Harvard Crimson program and was a member of the school's 1989 national championship. The New Jersey Devils selected him with the fifth overall in the 1989 NHL Supplemental Draft, though he never played for the team. Young signed with the Calgary Flames in 1990 and made his NHL debut with the team two years later. He was traded to the Boston Bruins mid-season. Young signed with the Florida Panthers prior to the 1993–94 season, but left the sport after becoming embroiled in a dispute with the team.

In its 18th year under head coach Bill Cleary the team compiled a 31–3–0 record and reached the NCAA tournament for the fourteenth time. The Crimson defeated Minnesota 4–3 in overtime to win the championship game at the St. Paul Civic Center in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
