He was born in Eluru in West Godavari district on 2 February 1944. He learnt cartooning through a correspondence course offered by the Ray Burns School of Cartooning. [1] After completing his college degree, he joined the Telugu daily Visalaandhra in 1961 as a cartoonist.
His cartoons also appeared in newspapers like Andhra Prabha and Vaartha, and magazines like Andhra Jyothi and Chalana Chitra. In 1991, his cartoons also appeared in the Russian humour magazine Krokodil. [2] He contributed articles on cartooning to Andhra Jyothi, Wisdom and the Sunday editions of various newspapers, besides writing instructional books on the subject and conducting courses in cartooning.
TeeVee received a Lifetime Achievement award from the Indian Institute of Cartoonists in 2009. [3]

William Henry Mauldin was an American editorial cartoonist who won two Pulitzer Prizes for his work. He was most famous for his World War II cartoons depicting American soldiers, as represented by the archetypal characters Willie and Joe, two weary and bedraggled infantry troopers who stoically endure the difficulties and dangers of duty in the field. His cartoons were popular with soldiers throughout Europe, and with civilians in the United States as well. However, his second Pulitzer Prize was for a cartoon published in 1958, and possibly his best-known cartoon was after the Kennedy assassination.

Their cartoons are used to convey and question an aspect of daily news or current affairs in a national or international context. Political cartoonists generally adopt a caricaturist style of drawing, to capture the likeness of a politician or subject. In a career spanning 40 years, Abu Abraham worked for various national and international newspapers including The Bombay Chronicle, Shankar's Weekly, Blitz, Tribune, The Observer (1956–1966), The Guardian (1966–1969), and The Indian Express (1969–1981).
Andhra Jyothi is the third largest circulated Telugu language daily newspaper of India sold mostly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It was founded by K. L. N. Prasad, an Industrialist on 1 July 1960. It is also one of the oldest running Telugu language daily newspapers. It was taken over by Vemuri Radha Krishna, also known as R. K. in 2002 who also works as the Managing Director.

Gummadi Venkateswara Rao, known mononymously by his surname Gummadi, was an Indian actor and producer, who worked predominantly in Telugu cinema and a few Tamil films. Known as one of the finest supporting/character actors in Telugu cinema, Gummadi acted in around five hundred feature films. He received critical recognition for his work in Thodu Dongalu (1954) and Mahamantri Timmarusu (1962), for which he received the erstwhile Rashtrapati Award. Gummadi was an official member of the Indian delegation from South India to the Tashkent Film Festival in 1978 and 1982.
Chackalethu John Yesudasan, also known as Yesudasan, was an Indian political cartoonist from Kerala. He was the founding chairman of the Kerala Cartoon Academy and chairman of the Kerala Lalithakala Akademi.
ABN Andhra Jyothy is an Indian Telugu-language 24-hour news channel launched on 15 October 2009. Aamoda Broadcasting Network is the holding company of the channel and is promoted by Vemuri Radhakrishna. The media house also owns the Telugu daily newspaper Andhra Jyothy.

Upādhyāyula Sūryanārāyaṇa Rāo (1923–1971) was a Telugu playwright and journalist who lived and worked in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh. He was the grandson of the pandit Ajjada Adibhatla Narayana Dasu. A school drop-out, he educated himself in literature, history and philosophy. He was actively associated with the Telugu stage and was one of the founding members of the Sri Vijayarama Nataka Kala Parishat, which regularly conducted drama competitions. He was often invited by other organisers as a judge for drama competitions. He was associated with the Praja Socialist Party in its early years.

Yadlapati Venkata Rao was an Indian politician from the state of Andhra Pradesh. Rao served as the Minister for Agriculture, Law and Planning in the united Andhra Pradesh from 1978 to 1980. He was elected thrice to the Vemuru Assembly constituency of the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA), and served as the Member of Parliament (MP) in Rajya Sabha representing Andhra Pradesh between 1998 and 2004.
