Visalaandhra is an Indian Telugu-language daily newspaper established on 22 June 1952 in Vijayawada. [2] [3] The state Communist party of India decided to rename then daily Prajasakti to Visalaandhra (A combination of two words Visala meaning large or vast and Andhra meaning the region of Andhra Pradesh) with the slogan of having a single state for the Telugu speaking people. This newspaper was phenomenal in naming the newly formed state as Andhra Pradesh. It played a key role in opposing both the 1969 Separate Telangana movement and 1972 Jai Andhra movement. As of 2015, it is being published from 7 centres. The daily also celebrated its diamond jubilee year in 2012. [4]
Visalaandhra started as a first Telugu daily. The main aim of the daily was to unite all the Telugu speaking public who were disbursed because of the British rule. The historical goal of the newspaper thus was to have a state formed on linguistic basis. Communist publications started as Navasakti periodical on 15 December 1937 from Rajamahendri. This got closed down during World War II. Later, it was published as Swatantra Bharat - a secret magazine. In 1942, still later, it was published as a weekly with name Prajasakti vaarapatrika. [5]
Andhra Pradesh is a state in the south-eastern coastal region of India. It is the seventh-largest state by area covering an area of 162,975 km2 (62,925 sq mi) and tenth-most populous state with 49,386,799 inhabitants, with the state capital being Amaravati and the largest city being Visakhapatnam. The state was then reorganised in June 2014 to form a separate Telangana state.
Eenadu is the largest circulated Telugu-language daily newspaper of India sold mostly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. According to the Indian Readership Survey (IRS) Q2 2019, Eenadu ranks eighth among the most circulated Indian-language dailies with a total readership (TR) of 1,614,105. It was founded by Ramoji Rao in 1974.

As of 2019, the state of Telangana is divided into 33 districts.
Potti Sreeramulu, was an Indian freedom fighter and revolutionary. Sreeramulu is revered as Amarajeevi in the Andhra region for his self-sacrifice for the Andhra cause. He became famous for undertaking a hunger strike for 56 days in support of having separate state for Andhra Pradesh; he died in the process. His death sparked public rioting and Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru declared the intent by the newly liberated nation to form Andhra State three days following the death of Sreeramulu. He contributed his life for the formation of a separate Telugu-speaking state from the dominant Tamil-speaking state of tamil nadu presidency. His struggles led to the formation of separate Telugu-speaking state called "Andhra Pradesh".
Andhra State was a state in India created in 1953 from the Telugu-speaking northern districts of Madras State. The state was made up of this two distinct cultural regions – Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra. Andhra State did not include all Telugu-speaking areas, as it excluded some in Hyderabad State. Under the State Reorganisation Act of 1956, Andhra State was merged with the Telugu-speaking regions of Hyderabad State to form Andhra Pradesh.
Tanguturi Prakasam Pantulu was an Indian politician and freedom fighter, chief minister of the Madras Presidency, and subsequently became the first chief minister of the new Andhra state, created by the partition of Madras State along linguistic lines. He was also known as Andhra Kesari. The Andhra Pradesh government issued G.O RT-2500 on 10 August 2014 declaring his birth anniversary a state festival. Andhra Kesari has a 9 feet statue in parliament houses, and the statue was unveiled by Kocheril Raman Narayanan, President of India on 5 May 2000. Andhra Kesari was the first biopic movie on a Chief Minister, which was directed by Vijayachander. It was released on 1 November 1983, on the Andhra Pradesh Formation day.
Andhra Prabha - Journalism first is a Telugu language daily newspaper of India sold mostly in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The newspaper is one of the oldest running Telugu language daily newspapers of India. The newspaper and website (www.prabhanews.com) were owned by the New Indian Express Group of Companies but the newspaper was sold to entrepreneurs from Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The newspaper is owned by Mootha Gopalakrishna, former M.L.A of Kakinada city. The newspaper publishes neutral news not in support of any political organisation and is the one of the most balanced and close-to-reality Telugu language daily newspapers.
Kasinadhuni Nageswararao, better known as Nageswara Rao Pantulu, was an Indian journalist, nationalist, politician, businessman, and a staunch supporter of Khaddar movement. He participated in the Indian independence movement and in the Indian National Congress party, including Mahatma Gandhi’s civil disobedience movement through salt satyagraha. He was conferred with the title Desabandhu by the people of Andhra Pradesh. He was a major financier of Congress activities in Andhra and Chennai and is also known for patenting Amrutanjan. He was conferred with the title Desoddhaaraka by the Andhra Mahasabha. In 1935, the Andhra University honoured him with Kalaprapoorna, an honorary doctorate of Literature.

Prajasakti, also spelled as Prajashakti, is a Telugu newspaper that is published in Andhra Pradesh, India by the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI (M)]. It started as a daily newspaper in 1981 with Vijayawada as the centre. Currently it is being published with nine centres at Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, Khammam, Kurnool, Ananthapur, Rajahmundry, Srikakulam, Karimnagar and Ongole. It has a wide network of over 100 primary news-gathering centers across the state.

The Visalandhra,VishalandhraorVishal Andhra was a movement in post-independence India for a united state for all Telugu speakers, a Greater Andhra. This movement was led by the Communist Party of India under the banner of Andhra Mahasabha with a demand to merge all the Telugu-speaking areas into one state. The movement succeeded and a separate state of Andhra Pradesh was formed by merging Telugu-speaking areas of Hyderabad State (Telangana) with Andhra State on 1 November 1956 as part of the States Reorganisation Act. However, on 2 June 2014, Telangana State was separated back out of Andhra Pradesh and the Vishalandhra experiment came to an end. The residual Andhra Pradesh now has approximately the same borders as the old Andhra State of 1956.
Paryavarana Kavitodyamam is a 21st century Telugu-language environmental literary movement. There are many literary movements in Andhra Pradesh during pre independence period. These movements were mainly on Indian independence and freedom struggle. After independence, it has turned to social issues and disparities time to time. Feminism and Dalit rights were the issues in late 20th century. Now 21st century is the period for Environment Poetry Movement in Telugu literature. This is called Paryavarana Kavitodyamam and it is the need of the hour.
