Vishwavani daily has around 56 years of history, published by Patil Puttappa from Hubballi. Vishweshwar Bhat is the managing director and chief editor of the news paper. The tag line on its masthead is " Vishwasave Vishwa". [1] Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the revamped edition on 15 January 2016. [2]

Vishwa Vani is highly admired for its Coloumns written by Thyagaraj, B.Ganapathi, Ravindra Joshi, Srivathsa Joshi and the Editor-in-chief Vishweshwar Bhat himself whose coloumns appear on Thursday and Sunday respectively. Pratap Simha Member of Parliament of Mysuru & Kodagu – who was a journalist himself also writes his weekly coloumn 'Bettale Jagattu' every Saturday. Vishwa Vani extensively covered the death of Centenarian seer Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji; even devoting a couple of pages depicting the childhood, education, support of parents and taking Sanyasa in a beautiful informative manner.

The travelogues written by Vishweshwar Bhat in his weekly coloumn and in its supplementary provide the detailed insights of the culture, traditions, people, interesting facts, behaviour of the people, cleanliness, cuisine, books, nature, infrastructure and a range of other issues. The Editor-in-chief Vishweshwar Bhat also answers the queries of his readers. Rohith Chakrateertha is also one of the prominent columnists who has been working since its inauguration.

<i>Varthabharathi</i> Kannada-language daily newspaper in India

Vartha Bharati also spelled as Vartha Bharathi is a prominent Kannada daily News paper published simultaneously from Bangalore, Mangalore and Shimoga. It was launched in August 2003. It is one of only 9 State level Kannada Daily newspapers of Karnataka, as recognized by the Information and Public Relations Department, Government of Karnataka. Its main focus was to provide voice and due representation to the deprived and marginalised sections of the society. Janapith and Padma Bhushan awardee Dr.U.R.Anantha Murthy was a great admirer and a regular contributor to this newspaper. Once, in a public meeting he called vartha bharati "The Guardian of Karnataka. The Guardian is the best and most honest newspaper of England, and has created a revolution in the whole of its nation. In the same way, Vartha Bharathi is Karnataka's Guardian," he lauded. Abdussalam Puthige, the editor-in-chief of Varthabharati was inspired by veteran journalist Vaddarse Raghuram Shetty, who had launched Mungaru Kannada daily back in 1984. Mungaru was well known for its generous policy of providing fair representation to all castes, communities and sections of the society. It left a significant mark in the history of Kannada journalism by identifying and nurturing several talents from Dalit, Muslim, Christian and Backward Communities. Numerous well-known Kannada leftist, social activists and Dalit ideologues including U. R. Ananthamurthy, U. B. Banakar, Dr. Niranjan Aradhya, write regularly for the paper. In 2017, a Vartha Bharati journalist was detained and served a showcause notice by the Dakshina Kannada police. The notice was later stayed by the Karnataka High Court. In 2017, Vartha Bharati's social media page was blocked by Facebook. Though it was later restored, there was no clear explanation as to why it happened.

Ltd. as Managing Director with Sri KP Nanjundi. Patil Puttappa was an Indian writer, veteran journalist and activist based in Hubli, India. He was the founder-editor of the now-defunct Kannada daily Vishwavani and weekly Prapancha.

Mangaluru Samachara or Mangalooru Samachara which literally means "The news of Mangalore" is the first newspaper published in Kannada. It was produced by a German, Rev. Hermann Friedrich Mögling of the Basel Mission beginning in 1843. The paper was printed using stone slabs, which exist to this day in the Basel Mission Printing Press in Balmatta, Mangalore.
