The number of Arabic newspapers in Egypt was about 200 in 1938. [1] There were also 65 newspapers published in languages other than Arabic, [1] such as Turkish, French and English. [2] By 1951 Arabic language newspapers numbered to about 400, while 150 were published in other languages. [1] By 2011, daily newspaper circulation in Egypt increased to more than 4.3 million copies. [3]

The season began on 21 September 2019 and will conclude on 31 October 2020. Fixtures for the 2019–20 season were announced on 12 September 2019.

The 2019–20 Egypt Cup was the 88th edition of the oldest recognised football tournament in Africa. It is sponsored by Tiger Chips, and known as the Tiger Egypt Cup for sponsorship purposes. It started with the First Preliminary Round on 15 October 2019, and concluded with the final on 5 December 2020.

The 2022–23 Egypt Cup is the 91st season of the premier knockout competition. The Egyptian Football Association oversees the Egypt Cup.
