Tehani Egodawela (born 19 April 1986), also known as M. G. T. U. E. Egodawela, or Udeshika Egodawela is a Sri Lankan sports shooter and a current national record holder in shooting. [1] [2] She competed at the postponed 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
Having completed her secondary education at the Good Shepherd Convent, Colombo, she enlisted in the Sri Lanka Navy as a seaman recruit in 2011 and specialized in communicator trade. She was part of the Sri Lanka Navy Musketry Pool since 2011. By 2021, she held the rank of Leading Woman Communicator. [3]
She was selected as the best shooter at national level for a record seven times, representing National Pool since 2012. [3] In 2013, she was recognized as the best women's rifle shooter at the Sri Lankan Navy Open Shooting Championships. [4] She was awarded the bronze medal in the women's 50m rifle 3×20 event representing Sri Lanka Navy at the 2016 National Shooting Sports Federation. [5] She represented Sri Lanka at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and competed in the 50 metre rifle prone and 50 metre rifle three positions events. [6] [7] [8]
She represented Sri Lanka at the 2016 South Asian Games at a time when she gave birth to her twin baby sons. [9] She won the bronze medal in the women's 50m rifle 0.22 team event at the 2016 South Asian Games. [10] She also won a bronze medal in the same event at the 2019 South Asian Games. [3] [11] In 2018, she set the Sri Lankan national record in women's 10m air rifle 0.177 category. She also set the national record in women's 50m rifle 0.22 category at the 2019 Asian Championships. She was selected for the postponed 2020 Summer Olympics, [12] [13] competing in the women's 10m air rifle 0.1777 event in the shooting category representing Sri Lanka. [14] [15] This was her first appearance at an Olympic competition. [3] The 2020 Tokyo Olympics Tripartite Commission Invitation Places made Tehani eligible to take part at the delayed 2020 Olympics. [16] Tehani was the third Sri Lankan athlete to be selected for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics after Mathilda Karlsson and Milka Gehani. [17] The final Sri Lankan team included nine athletes in a party of fifteen chosen to go to Tokyo to represent Sri Lanka. [18] Her coach did not travel with her to Tokyo. [19] She was ranked 49th position with total points of 611.5 in the women's 10m air rifle. [20] [21]
The International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) is the governing body of the Olympic shooting events. It also regulates several non-Olympic shooting sport events. The Federation's activities include regulation of the sport, managing Olympic qualification events and quota places, as well as organization of international competitions such as the ISSF World Cup series and ISSF World Championships.
Master Chief Petty Officer Sanjeev Rajput is an Arjuna Awardee Indian sport shooter from Yamuna Nagar, Haryana. He was a retired Junior Commissioned Officer in Indian Navy.
Samarakoon Mudiyansalage Mangala Samarakoon is a former Sri Lankan sport shooter. He also served as a non-commission officer for Sri Lanka Army as well staff sergeant of the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps.
Shooting competitions at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo were originally scheduled from 25 July to 3 August 2020, due to the postponement of the Summer Olympics to 2021, the rescheduled dates were on 24 July to 2 August 2021 at the Asaka Shooting Range. Unlike in 2016, the number of shooters competing across fifteen events at these Games had been reduced from 390 to 360, with an equal distribution between men and women. Furthermore, several significant changes were instituted in the Olympic shooting program, including the substitution of three male-only events, with the mixed team competitions.

Lesia Severynivna Leskiv is a Ukrainian sport shooter. She represented Ukraine in rifle shooting in the Olympic Games in 1996, 2000, and 2004, finishing within the top fifteen in the games. Leskiv also earned four medals at the World Championships, and five more, including three golds, at the European Championships, bringing them up to her remarkable career tally of nine. A full-fledged member of the Lvov Army Forces, Leskiv trained for the shooting club under her personal coach Vadym Vysochyn.
Éva Joó is a Hungarian sport shooter. She has competed for Hungary in rifle shooting at four Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal in 1996. Apart from her Olympic career, Joo has successfully produced a career tally of nineteen medals in a major international competition: a gold at the 1990 ISSF World Championships in Moscow, Soviet Union, a total of three at the ISSF World Cup final, a total of nine at various meets of the World Cup series, and a remainder of six under both junior and senior categories at the European Championships since her sporting debut in 1987.
Pushpamali Ramanayake is a Sri Lankan sport shooter. She has competed for Sri Lanka in rifle shooting at three Olympics, and has won a gold medal with fellow shooter Malini Wickramasinghe in the air rifle pairs at the 1994 Commonwealth Games in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.
Valérie Bellenoue is a French sport shooter. She has competed for France in rifle shooting at three Olympics, and has been close to an Olympic medal on her debut in 1996. Outside her Olympic career, Bellenoue has won a total of fourteen medals in a major international competition, spanning the World and European Championships and the ISSF World Cup series.
Alyona Aksyonova is an Uzbek sport shooter. She won a bronze medal in small-bore rifle prone at the 2000 Asian Championships in Langkawi, Malaysia, and was selected to compete for Uzbekistan in two editions of the Olympic Games.
Divna Pešić is a Macedonian sport shooter. She has been selected to compete for the Republic of Macedonia in two editions of the Olympic Games, finishing outside the top 30 in both air and small-bore rifle shooting. Pesic trains at a shooting club in Kavadarci under her father and longtime coach Blagoj Pešić.
The 2016 Asian Olympic Shooting Qualifying Tournament was held in New Delhi, India between January 27 and February 3. This tournament was the Asian qualifying tournament for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio, after the 2015 Asian Shooting Championships was stripped of its status after the IOC suspended Kuwait NOC.
Seonaid McIntosh is a British sports shooter who became the World Champion at the 2018 ISSF World Shooting Championships in the 50m Prone Rifle event. In 2019 she became Britain's most successful female rifle shooter of all time, winning five World Cup medals. She also became the first British Woman to rank World #1 for the 50m Rifle Three Position event and became European Champion in the 300m Rifle Prone event with an equal World Record score.

Mary Carolynn Tucker is an American sport shooter. She won silver in the 10m air rifle mixed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Previously she has won gold at the 2021 ISSF World Cup in the 10 metre air rifle. She also won a silver medal in 10 metre air rifle team women and a bronze medal in 10m air rifle mixed team in the ISSF World Cup 2021, New Delhi. After the games she took home 6 medals from the Junior World Championships and the 10 meter air rifle championship from the 2021 Pan American Games. Tucker is right handed and is right eye dominant.
Jenny Stene is a Norwegian sport shooter. Her achievements include winning an individual silver medal and team gold medal in rifle shooting at the ISSF World Shooting Championships, as well as winning both individual gold medal and team gold medal at the 2023 European Games.
