Telecel Ghana is the Ghanaian subsidiary of Telecel Group, an African focused telecommunications company. [1] They are the leading total communications solutions provider. In February 2023, Telecel Group completed a deal to acquire 70% shares of Vodafone Ghana [2] in Ghana Telecom Company Limited [3] and effectively rebranded [4] Vodafone Ghana into Telecel Ghana. [5]

In February 2024, Telecel Ghana announced immense network expansion in Ghana by adding 300 new 4G sites in record time. [6]

Internet disruption

In March 2024, the company lost internet connectivity due to a cut in their undersea cables. [7] and this led to the disruption of services on fixed and mobile networks. [8] Later, they secured internet capacity through local and international partners. [9] [10]

As of March 2024, Patricia Obo-Nai is the Chief Executive Officer for the company. [11]

She is a member of the Ghana Institution of Engineers, (GHIE) and Vodafone's executive committee. In May 2021, she was named among the top 50 Most Influential Female Leaders in Africa within the corporate and business sphere by Leading Ladies Africa.

Vodafone’s mobile network covers more than 23 million Australians, and Vodafone has commenced the rollout of its 5G mobile network. Nsano Limited is a Ghanaian Fintech company founded in 2013 headquartered in Accra, Ghana but in other African countries including Ivory Coast, Zambia and Uganda. Nsano facilitates the termination of financial payments in about 15 African markets as they push financial inclusion.
