Tengku Fahad Mua'adzam Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah (born 10 February 1994) is a member of the Pahang royal family and the Tengku Arif Temenggong. [1] He is the youngest child and only son of the late Sultan of Pahang, Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah and the former Sultanah of Pahang, Che Puan Besar Kalsom Abdullah. [2] Additionally, he is the President of Pahang Rangers F.C., [3] founder of the Sultan Ahmad Shah Environment Trust, the chairman of TAT Alliance Services, [4] and co-founder of SASET Foundation.

Media coverage of Tengku Fahad started at the proclamation of Al-Sultan Abdullah as the 6th Sultan of modern Pahang at the Abu Bakar Palace in January 2019. [5] On 3 November 2019, he presided over the United Bentong Brilliant Network Association's Youth Carnival, which was organized by Dato' Jasvir Singh. [6] He is usually present during charitable events. [7]

Personal life

Tengku Fahad Mua'adzam Shah, the only son and youngest child of the late Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah and his second wife, Che Puan Besar Kalsom Abdullah, was born at the Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital in Kuantan. Garden International School in Kuantan was the educational institution attended by him. After thereafter, he pursued his education at Eton College in the United Kingdom. [8] Additionally, he pursued his education at Princeton University in the United States. [9] [10] During his time in Princeton, he was unavailable and missed out his father's 85th birthday. [11]

During their 14-day visit of Malaysia, a football team from Eton College landed in Kuala Lumpur on 22 August 2011, to play a series of friendly matches with the national young team and the Pahang youth teams. Tengku Fahad was one of the 20 players that made up the Eton College squad. [12] [13]

In addition to assuming the position of WSSEM Patron, Tengku Fahad was awarded the Royal Fellowship of the World Society of Sports and Exercise Medicine (WSSEM) in 2017. This recognition was given for his active participation in sports. [14] He was conferred the title of Tengku Arif Temenggong in 2002 [15] and was awarded the following honours; [10]

He was the sixteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong, from 2019 to 2024, being sworn in just a few weeks after ascending to the throne as Sultan of Pahang.

The installation of Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Al-Musta'in Billah as the sixteenth Yang di-Pertuan Agong of Malaysia took place in a Malay Royal Ceremony at the Balairong Seri, Istana Negara, Kuala Lumpur on Tuesday, 30 July 2019 at 10 a.m. He was elected earlier by the Malay Rulers in the 251st Special Meeting of Conference of Rulers which was held at Istana Negara on 24 January 2019. The meeting was held upon the abdication of the previous Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Sultan Muhammad V of Kelantan who abdicated from his post on 6 January 2019. Abdullah held the position for a period of 5 years beginning on 31 January 2019.

Brigadier General Tengku Amir Nasser Ibrahim Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is a member of Pahang's royal family who is the Tengku Panglima Raja. He is the adopted son of Sultan Abdullah of Pahang, and his wife Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang.

Tengku Puteri Iman Afzan binti Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is a Malaysian mental health activist and member of the Pahang royal family who is the Tengku Puteri Raja. She is the eldest daughter of Al-Sultan Abdullah, the 6th Sultan of Pahang and 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong (King) of Malaysia. She serves as the royal patron of the J’keb Foundation and the National Coalition for Mental Wellbeing. Tengku Muhammad Iskandar Ri'ayatuddin Shah ibni Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah is a member of the Pahang royal family who is the Tengku Arif Bendahara. He is the second son of the current Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and his consort Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang.

The Grand Royal Order of Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang is the third highest order of chivalry of the state of Pahang which was constituted by Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang on 23 October 2010 in conjunction with his 80th birthday anniversary. The order ranked below the Order of Sri Setia Al-Sultan Abdullah Ahmad Shah of Pahang and above the Order of Sultan Ahmad Shah of Pahang.
