The Tennent Caledonian Cup (sponsored by Tennent Caledonian Breweries) was a short-lived preseason football tournament held at Ibrox Park from 1976 to 1979 and contested by teams from England and Scotland.

The Scottish Football Association Challenge Cup, commonly known as the Scottish Cup, is an annual association football knock-out cup competition for men's football clubs in Scotland. The competition was first held in 1873–74. Entry is open to all 113 clubs with full membership of the Scottish Football Association (SFA), along with up to eight other clubs who are associate members.
Steven Davis is a Northern Irish professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Scottish Premiership club Rangers and is the captain of the Northern Ireland national team. Davis made his full international debut in 2005 and has since been capped over 130 times, scoring 13 goals, at senior level to become the most capped player in Northern Ireland, and the most-capped British player. He captained his nation to the last 16 at UEFA Euro 2016.
Gary John McSwegan is a Scottish former professional footballer. A striker, he began his career with Rangers, leaving to join Notts County in England. He returned to Scotland and had spells with Dundee United, Heart of Midlothian and Kilmarnock. Later in his career he went on to play for Ross County, Inverness Caledonian Thistle, and Clyde. He made two international appearances for Scotland whilst a Hearts player.
