Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan was a Pakistani singer, songwriter, and music director. He was primarily a singer of qawwali — a form of Sufi devotional music. Often called the "Shahenshah-e-Qawwali", he is considered by The New York Times to be the greatest qawwali singer of his generation. He was described as the fourth greatest singer of all time by LA Weekly in 2016. He was known for his vocal abilities and could perform at a high level of intensity for several hours. Khan is widely credited with introducing qawwali music to international audiences. He was also a master in Hindustani classical music.

Bombay is the soundtrack to the 1995 Indian film of the same name, with eight tracks composed by A. R. Rahman. The soundtrack, consisting of seven original tracks and two remix versions was composed by A. R. Rahman with lyrics penned by Abbas Tyrewala. The audio was officially released on 17 September by Sa Re Ga Ma at the Sa Re Ga Ma Pa competition. The album was very well received by the critics and was the chart topper for some weeks. Raanjhanaa is the soundtrack album, composed by A. R. Rahman of the 2013 Hindi film of the same name, directed by Anand L. Rai and starring Dhanush, Sonam Kapoor and Abhay Deol in the lead roles. The film is produced by Krishika Lulla under the banner Eros International. The lyrics of the original version were written by Irshad Kamil whereas the Tamil lyrics were written by poet Vairamuthu. The soundtrack album features nine original tracks. The music of the original version of the soundtrack was released on the co-branded record labels Sony Music India and Eros Music on 11 June 2013 and the Tamil version on 24 June 2013.

Kochadaiiyaan is the soundtrack album composed by A. R. Rahman to the 3D motion capture computer-animated Tamil film of the same name directed by Soundarya R. Ashwin. Rahman composed all seven of the original songs as well as the score for the film. Artists Iggy Azalea, KT Tunstall, Wale, Sukhwinder Singh, Raghav Mathur have collaborated with the composer for the soundtrack. Kendrick Lamar also recorded a song that is featured only in the film. The soundtrack album was digitally released by Walt Disney Records on May 13, 2014, followed by a CD release on May 19.
Lekar Hum Deewana Dil is the soundtrack album, composed by A. R. Rahman, to the 2014 Hindi film of the same name, directed by Arif Ali that stars Armaan Jain and Deeksha Seth in the lead roles. Nawabzaade is a 2018 Indian Hindi-language romantic comedy film directed by Jayesh Pradhan and produced by Lizelle D'Souza under R.D. Entertainment and Mayur K. Barot under T-Films. The film stars Raghav Juyal, Punit Pathak and Dharmesh Yelande in the lead roles and debutant Isha Rikhi in a supporting role. It was theatrically released on 27 July 2018 by AA Films.
99 Songs is the soundtrack album composed by A. R. Rahman for the 2021 Indian film of the same name, directed by Vishwesh Krishnamoorthy and produced by Rahman's YM Movies, along with Jio Studios and Ideal Entertainment. The film which stars newcomers Ehan Bhat and Edilsy Vargas, also marked Rahman's maiden stint as a scriptwriter and producer respectively.
