Teresa Gorospe (born 28 April 2005) is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast. [1]
Teresa took up rhythmic gymnastics at age six in the first grade of primary school after seeing a friend do it. During summer she trains five hours every day, from autumn to spring she trains from 4 p.m until 8:30 p.m. Gorospe said she can now combine sport very well with studies, as gymnastics helps her to be more disciplined and to make better use of her time. In her free time she either studies or spend time with friends. Her favourite book and movie are Malory Towers by Enid Blyton and The Parent Trap by David Swift. Teresa says her best quality is that she's a hard worker, her idol is Russian gymnast Dina Averina who's a four time world champion. [2] Her ultimate goal for her sporting career is to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. [3]
Gorospe first gained national fame in 2017 when she became Spain's pre-junior champion. [4] The next year she participated in the selection for the junior team, [5] ultimately entering the national team. [6] She then had her first competition at the Andalucía Cup, ending 15th with ball, 20th with clubs, 14th with rope and 23rd in the All-Around. [7] Followed by a tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria, [8] and the Grand Prix in Holon, Israel. [9]
In 2019 Gorospe was selected by the national coordinator Alejandra Quereda to take part in the 1st junior World Championship in Moscow, Russia, where she was 9th with ball, her only apparatus. [10] [11] She also won silver at the national championship, behind teammate Salma Solaun, [12] the same ranking was repeated with clubs and ribbon, and it was reversed with rope and ball. [13] In September she was confirmed in the national team for two more years [14] and then competed at the Mediterranean Games in Cagliari, Italy where she was 2nd with the team along Salma Solaun, Lucía González and Irene Martínez, and with ball. [15]
Teresa started her 2020 at the Moscow Grand Prix, where the Spanish team won the bronze medal. [16] She was scheduled to participate at the Andalucia Cup and the Viravolta - Jael tournament, but then the covid-19 outbreak stalled the season. [17] Gorospe made her return to Madrid at the end of September. [18] In October Teresa won the silver medal in the All-Around, silver with ball, bronze with clubs and silver with ribbon during the 2nd online tournament. [19] Gorospe ended in 3rd at the Spanish championship behind Lucía González and Solaun. [20]
In 2021 Gorospe was confirmed in the national team [21] and was among the contenders to represent Spain at the 2021 World Championship [22] she was selected as the reserve [23] before Solaun picked up an injury and Teresa replaced her. [24]
2022 Teresa started by winning gold in the ball final at the Grand Prix in Marbella. [25] She then participated to the World Cup in Baku, [26] Pamplona [27] where she won bronze with ribbon and Portimão. [28] Gorospe was the reserve for the 2022 European Championship, [29] but she competed at the World Games. [30] She retained the national bronze medal behind Polina Berezina and Alba Bautista. [31] At the start of September she was confirmed into the national team for the 2022-2023 season. [32]
In January 2023 Teresa was selected for the national team's training camp in Gran Canaria along Patricia Pérez, Irene Martínez, Valeria Márquez, Inés Bergua, Mireia Martínez, Andrea Fernández, Nerea Moreno, Salma Solaun, Ana Arnau and individuals Polina Berezina, Lucía González and Alba Bautista. In June 2024 she announced her retirement from the sport.
Salma Solaun Campos is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast who competed at the 2019 Junior World Rhythmic Gymnastic championships, where she won a bronze medal. She also won a silver medal at the 2022 European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championships, in the 3 ribbons + 2 balls final.
Polina Berezina Ksenofontova is an individual rhythmic gymnast. Born in Russia, she represents Spain internationally. She has competed at seven Rhythmic Gymnastics World Championships and won a bronze medal with the Spanish team in 2022. She is a five-time Spanish national all-around champion at the senior level. She competed at the 2024 Summer Olympics in women's rhythmic individual all-around and placed 15th, cutoff from the finals.
Anna Baranova is a rhythmic gymnastics coach, former Spanish national coach and current coach of the French national team. She has held the position of coach of the Spanish group in two stages: the first from 2004 to 2008, and the second from 2011 to 2020. In both she had the help as a coach of Sara Bayon. In this period the Spanish team, known as the Equipaso, has won silver at the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, became double world champion in 10 clubs, won world All-Around bronze in 2015 in Stuttgart and finished in 4th place at the 2012 London Olympics.
The Spanish Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship is the most important national rhythmic gymnastics competition in Spain. It is organized annually since 1975 by the Royal Spanish Federation of Gymnastics and today, since 2010, it is called the Spanish Championship of Individuals, Clubs and Autonomies. It is currently held in June and alongside the Spanish Men's Individual Championship.
Alba Bautista Cañas is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She won a bronze medal at the 2022 World Championships in the team category. She is the 2023 Spanish senior national champion. She competed at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the rhythmic individual all-around and finished in 20th place in the qualification round.
Mireia Martínez is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She's the bronze All-Around and 5 hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships.
Patricia Pérez is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She was the bronze All-Around and five hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships.
Inés Bergua is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She's the bronze All-Around and 5 hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships.
Ana Arnau is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast. She was the bronze All-Around and 5 hoops medalist at the 2022 World Championships.

Natalia García Timofeeva is a retired Spanish rhythmic gymnast who was a member of Spain's national rhythmic gymnastics team from 2008 until her retirement in 2021. She has been 5 times nation champion counting all categories: 1 in alevín (2005), 2 in children, 1 in junior (2008) and 1 in junior honor (2009). She has also been 6 times national silver medalist as a senior and won bronze in 2019. She retired on 13 November 2021 at the 6th Ciutat International Trophy in Barcelona after more than 20 years in the world of gymnastics.
Sara Llana García is a Spanish rhythmic gymnast who competed in the national team. She has participated in four World Championships, and two Europeans, as well as being 4 times champion of Spain as an individual and 5 times with the group of Club Ritmo.
