2013 African U-20 Championship International football competition

The 2013 African U-20 Championship officially known as the Orange African U-20 Championship, Algeria 2013 was the 19th edition of the African U-20 Championship. The competition was held in Algeria in the cities of Oran and Aïn Témouchent from March 16 to 30 March 2013. The semifinalists will participate in 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup.

Zidoria Sport Aïn Témouchent is an Algerian football club located in Aïn Témouchent, Algeria. The club currently plays in the Ligue Nationale du Football Amateur.

The 2012–13 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 was the forty-ninth edition of the Algerian second division since its establishment, and its third season of the league under its current title. A total of 16 teams contested the league. The league started September 14, 2012, and concluded on May 3, 2013. CRB Aïn Fakroun were crowned champions and promoted to the 2013–14 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1 along with RC Arbaâ and MO Béjaïa. At the bottom of the table, MO Constantine, SA Mohammadia and CR Témouchent were relegated.

1999 Aïn Témouchent earthquake

The 1999 Aïn Témouchent earthquake occurred on December 22 at 18:36:56 local time in northern Algeria. The dip-slip event had a moment magnitude of 5.6 and a maximum Mercalli intensity of VII. At least 22 were killed, 175 were injured, and 15,000 were homeless. The Belgian Centre for Research on the Epidemiology of Disasters' EM-DAT database and the USGS' National Geophysical Data Center both list financial losses of $60.93 million.
