Tero Kalliolevo (born 7 March 1977) from Finland is the Nordic countries' most successful quiz player in international competitions.

In 2007 he won his first European Quizzing Championships medal in the pair competition with compatriot Jussi Suvanto behind Belgians Erik Derycke/Tom Trogh. [1]

In 2008 he won a singles bronze medal at the World Quizzing Championships even edging out superstar Kevin Ashman. [2] Only Mark Bytheway and Ronny Swiggers were better.

At the European Quizzing Championships 2008 in Norway he finished in 5th place (singles), even with Suvanto. Together they came in 4th in the doubles competition. With the club JFGI (Tero Kalliolevo, Jussi Suvanto, Estonians Ove Põder and Tauno Vahter) he edged out Ashman's Milhous Warriors for Bronze. [3]

In 2009 he finished 7th at the World Quizzing Championships behind the British and Belgian world stars (Ashman, Bytheway, Swiggers, Olav Bjortomt, Nico Pattyn, Pat Gibson). [4] At the Euros 2009 he also finished 7th at singles [5] behind the same players save Ian Bayley instead of Bytheway, again 4th at doubles and second with the club.

Wilfried Huber is an Italian luger and coach who competed from 1985 to 2010. Together with Kurt Brugger, he won the men's doubles event at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer. He competed in both doubles and singles, but enjoyed his greatest success in doubles in partnership with Brugger. He made his debut in the Luge World Cup in 1986-87 season. He also took two medals at the World Junior Championships in Olang in 1988, a silver and a bronze. He competed in six Winter Olympics, in 1988, 1992, 1994, 1998, 2002 and 2006: he was aiming to compete at the 2010 Winter Olympics, however he was not selected by the Italian team's head coach Walter Plaikner, and retired at the end of the season.

Nico Pattyn is one of Belgium's most successful quiz players. He became European Quizzing Champion in November 2007, claiming the title in Blackpool. He was the first to beat English quiz legend, Kevin Ashman at the European championships individuals. He also won an individual silver medal at the first European Quizzing Championships in 2004 in his hometown Ghent and in 2013 in Liverpool, behind his compatriot Ronny Swiggers.

The International Quizzing Championships (IQC) is an annual multi-disciplinary quiz event, in which representatives from various countries compete as individuals, in pairs, and in teams.

Mark Bytheway was an England International Quiz player best known for becoming Quizzing World Champion in 2008 and winning the Top Brain competition of Brain of Britain.

Ronny Swiggers is one of Belgium's most successful quiz players. In November 2013, he became European Quizzing Champion, winning the individual competition at the European Championship in Liverpool, beating compatriot Nico Pattyn and Englishman Jesse Honey.

Jesse Honey is an English urban planner and quiz player from South London, best known for winning the Mastermind series 2010 and holding one of its records, becoming a member of the English National quiz team later in the year, and going on to win the World Quizzing Championship 2012.

Tom Trogh is a Belgian quiz player who has won several international titles with the national team of quizzing powerhouse Belgium. He has established himself as the third best player of his country behind Ronny Swiggers and Nico Pattyn. Like all Belgian stars he is an amateur, he works as an actuary in a life insurance company.

Erik Derycke is a Belgian quiz player best known for his success with the national team and his double gold at the European Quizzing Championships (EQC) 2007 with his partner Tom Trogh.

Shane Vanderson is a retired professional racquetball player. Vanderson was the International Racquetball Tour's (IRT's) #5 player at the end of three seasons: 2006-07, 2007–08, 2009-10. Vanderson finished in the IRT's top 10 for ten consecutive seasons. A native of Ohio, Vanderson was known for having one of the best backhands in racquetball.

Holger Waldenberger is a German professional quiz player. He won the individual title in the European Quizzing Championships in 2012.

Organised by the International Quizzing Association and held from 3 to 6 November 2016, the 2016 Quiz Olympiad in Athens was the inaugural Quiz Olympiad. Replacing the annual European Quizzing Championships, the event was open to quizzers from all over the world, with representatives of 26 nations competing.
