Tetragonoderus notaphioides is a species of beetle in the family Carabidae. [1] It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1861. [1]
Tiger beetles are a family of beetles, Cicindelidae, known for their aggressive predatory habits and running speed. The fastest known species of tiger beetle, Rivacindela hudsoni, can run at a speed of 9 km/h, or about 125 body lengths per second. As of 2005, about 2,600 species and subspecies were known, with the richest diversity in the Oriental (Indo-Malayan) region, followed by the Neotropics. While historically treated as a subfamily of ground beetles (Carabidae) under the name Cicindelinae, several studies since 2020 indicated that they should be treated as a family, the Cicindelidae, which are a sister group to Carabidae within the Adephaga.
Victor Ivanovich Motschulsky was a Russian entomologist mainly interested in beetles.
Harpalus is a genus of ground beetle first described by Pierre André Latreille in 1802.
Melyridae are a family of beetles of the superfamily Cleroidea.
Bembidion is the largest genus of beetles in the family Carabidae by number of species. All species are small and move very fast. Most of them live close to water. The genus has a biantitropical distribution, meaning they are found in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres, but not in the tropics. In warmer regions it is substituted by closely related Tachys and other genera.
Anobiinae is a subfamily of death-watch beetles in the family Ptinidae, with at least 45 genera. It was formerly considered a member of the family Anobiidae, but its family name has since been changed to Ptinidae.
Pachyerannis is a monotypic moth genus in the family Geometridae described by Inoue in 1982. Its only species, Pachyerannis obliquaria, first described by Victor Motschulsky in 1860, is known from Japan and the Russian Far East.
Kateretidae also known as short-winged flower beetles are a family of beetles in the superfamily Cucujoidea. There are 10 extant and 4 extinct genera, and at least 40 described species. They are found worldwide except in New Zealand. Adults are anthophagous, feeding on flowers, while the larvae are spermatophagous inside the flower corolla.
Tetragonoderus is a genus of beetles in the family Carabidae, containing the following species:
Synuchus arcuaticollis is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Harpalinae. It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1860.
Synuchus nitidus is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Harpalinae. It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1861.
Tetragonoderus velutinus is a species of beetle in the family Carabidae. It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1864.
Lesticus magnus is a species of ground beetle in the subfamily Pterostichinae. It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1860.
Hemicrepidius is a genus of click beetle belonging to the family Elateridae.
Spilarctia seriatopunctata is a moth in the family Erebidae. It was described by Victor Motschulsky in 1861. It is found in Russia, China, Korea and Japan.
Aphodiini is a tribe of aphodiine dung beetles in the family Scarabaeidae. There are more than 250 genera and 2,200 described species in Aphodiini.
Neofidia is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Eumolpinae. It is distributed in North and Central America. There are 24 species recognised in Neofidia.
Scirtes is a genus of marsh beetles in the family Scirtidae. There are more than 80 described species in Scirtes.
Scraptia is a genus of false flower beetles in the family Scraptiidae. There are more than 20 described species in Scraptia.
Fidia is a genus of leaf beetles in the subfamily Eumolpinae. It is distributed in East Asia, Southeast Asia and Africa.
