The University of Texas System is an american government entity of the state of Texas that includes 14 higher educational institutions throughout the state including eight universities and six health institutions. The UT System is headquartered in Downtown Austin, and has a total enrollment of nearly 240,000 students and employs 21,000 faculty and more than 83,000 health care professionals,researchers and support staff. The UT System's $30 billion endowment is the largest of any public university system in the United States. As of 2018, Reuters ranks the UT System among the top 10 most innovative academic institutions in the world.
The Texas Medical Center (TMC) is a 2.1-square-mile (5.4 km2) medical district and neighborhood in south-central Houston, Texas, immediately south of the Museum District and west of Texas State Highway 288. Over sixty medical institutions, largely concentrated in a triangular area between Brays Bayou, Rice University, and Hermann Park, are members of the Texas Medical Center Corporation—a non-profit umbrella organization—which constitutes the largest medical complex in the world. The TMC has an extremely high density of clinical facilities for patient care, basic science, and translational research.

It was created in 1972 by The University of Texas System Board of Regents. It is located in the Texas Medical Center, the largest medical center in the world. It is composed of six schools: McGovern Medical School, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center UTHealth Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, UTHealth School of Dentistry, Cizik School of Nursing, UTHealth School of Biomedical Informatics and UTHealth School of Public Health.
Memorial Hermann Health System is the largest not-for-profit health system in southeast Texas and consists of 17 hospitals, 8 Cancer Centers, 3 Heart & Vascular Institutes, and 27 sports medicine and rehabilitation centers, in addition to other outpatient and rehabilitation centers. It was formed in the late 1990s when the Memorial and Hermann systems joined. Both the Memorial and Hermann health care systems started in the early 1900s. The administration is housed in the new Memorial Hermann Tower, along with the existing System Services Tower, of the Memorial Hermann Memorial City Medical Center.

He was elected to the office of Mayor of the City of Arlington in May 2003 after serving two terms on the city council. He represented Council District 4. On May 9, 2015, Mr. Cluck was defeated by Jeff Williams, who is now mayor of the City of Arlington.
UT Health East Texas - North Campus refers to the clinical operations of the University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTHSCT) academic campus on U.S. Highway 271. UTHSCT was chartered in 1977 by The University of Texas System Board of Regents. UTHSCT is the only academic medical center in Northeast Texas. Located in Tyler, TX, UTHSCT was originally named "East Texas Tuberculosis Sanitarium", established in 1947 as a tuberculosis treatment facility at the location of the retired World War II U.S. Army Infantry Training Base called Camp Fannin. It eventually became a state hospital known as the East Texas Chest Hospital. Following the 1977 acquisition by The University of Texas System, it became The University of Texas Health Science Center at Tyler (UTSHCT). The institution served Northeast Texas, as UT Health Northeast, until the 2018 expansion of clinical operations through a merger with the former East Texas Medical Center to form the clinical affiliate, UT Health East Texas (UTHET).
Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Temple is a 2636-bed multi-specialty teaching hospital located in Temple, Texas. The facility was founded in 1897, when Dr. Arthur C. Scott and Dr. Raleigh R. White, Jr., opened the Temple Sanitarium in Temple, Texas. The group practice consists of over 800 physicians and scientists. The primary clinical teaching campus of Texas A&M Health Science Center College of Medicine, Baylor Scott & White – Temple is ranked as one of the top 100 hospitals and one of the top 15 teaching hospitals in the United States by Thomson Reuters. James Henry "Red" Duke, Jr. was a trauma surgeon and professor at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center, where he worked on-site since 1972. He was instrumental in introducing Memorial Hermann's Life Flight program and bringing a level I trauma center to Houston. Outside Texas, he is probably most famous for the nationally syndicated television spot called Texas Health Reports or Dr. Red Duke's Health Reports, which aired on local television stations in the United States for fifteen years.

In 2014, U.S. News & World Report named TIRR Memorial Hermann to the list of America’s Best Hospitals for the 25th consecutive time.
