The album was produced by Will Putney,recorded at Machine Shop Studios in Belleville,New Jersey, [1] and released on October 9,2012,with "Bed of Nails",the first single from the album,released on September 11,2012. The album features percussion from Matt Greiner of August Burns Red,vocals from Dave Stephens of We Came as Romans and Chadwick Johnson of Hundredth. [5]

August Burns Red is an American metalcore band from Lancaster,Pennsylvania,formed in 2003. The band's lineup of guitarists John Benjamin "JB" Brubaker and Brent Rambler,drummer Matt Greiner,lead vocalist Jake Luhrs and bassist Dustin Davidson has remained consistent since 2006. The band was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2016 for Best Metal Performance for the song "Identity" from its 2015 release Found in Far Away Places,and again in 2018 for "Invisible Enemy" from Phantom Anthem (2017). The band has released ten studio albums to date;their latest,Death Below,was released in 2023.

After signing with Equal Vision Records,they released three more studio albums:One Reality on April 26,2011;a self-titled album on October 9,2012;and finally Bloodwork on September 16,2014. The band broke up at the end of 2015. After the disbanding,JT Cavey went on to join Erra and Chris Davis went on to join The Ghost Inside.
