Earlier Thaha worked as an assistant director in films including Rajavinte Makan , Bhoomiyile Rajakkanmar , Kakkothikkavile Appooppan Thaadikal , and Varnam to directors such as Kamal and Thampi Kannanthanam. In 1991, he co-directed with Ashokan the film Mookkillarajyathu , as Ashokan-Thaha. Later he went on to direct films independently.

Kunchacko Boban is an Indian actor and film producer. He is referred to as Chackochan, and during early 2000's, he was called "chocolate boy", because of his romeo roles. He works in the Malayalam film industry and has acted in more than 100 films in more than two decades. He is a member of the Kunchacko family. Kunchacko's debut was as a child in the film Dhanya (1981) produced by his father Boban Kunchacko.

Gopalakrishnan. The film also marked the debut of Nithya Das. The story follows bus owner Unnikrishnan and his assistant, Sundareshan, who live and sleep in their bus. It is considered one of the best slapstick comedy movies in Malayalam cinema and was one of the highest-grossing Malayalam movies in 2001. The bus known as Thamarakshan Pilla, which is a central figure in the movie, eventually developed into a cult figure in Kerala.
