JaCC will also be equipped with 10 large atria to hold various exhibitions and one convention hall for exhibitions. The complex has food-court and a parking area for 6000 vehicles. There is one Amaris hotel in one of the apartments towers. The shopping center is housing many Indonesian Batik clothes shops. The complex has a land area of about 12.5 hectares.
Thamrin Nine is a mixed use development complex in Jakarta, Indonesia. It covers an area of approximately 570,000 square metres with office, retail, residential, hotels, sports and entertainment facilities. Its centrepiece, the Autograph Tower, is the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. The complex will have three office and apartment towers with a retail podium that connects the towers. The developer of the complex is PT Putragaya Wahana (PGW), who is also the developer of adjacent UOB Plaza.

JIExpo recently underwent an expansion from 2016 to 2019, adding an international theatre and convention center.
The opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Games took place on Saturday, 18 August 2018, at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia. The event commenced at 19:00 Indonesia Western Time (UTC+7) and ended at 21:25 local time. Wishnutama was the creative director of the ceremony. The ceremony featured a stage designed as a 26-meter-high mountain with a waterfall. It weighed 600 tons, was 120 meters long and 30 meters wide, and included a display of Indonesian plants and flowers, as well as a mock volcano. The volcano symbolized Indonesia's location in the "Ring of Fire" surrounding the Pacific Ocean. Host event broadcasting company International Games Broadcast Services (IGBS) filmed the televised coverage of the ceremony live internationally.
Flash floods occurred throughout the Indonesian capital of Jakarta and its metropolitan area on the early hours of 1 January 2020, due to the overnight rain which dumped nearly 400 millimetres (15 in) of rainwater, causing the Ciliwung and Cisadane rivers to overflow. At least 66 people have been killed, and 60,000 displaced in the worst flooding in the area since 2007.
Large-scale social restrictions or LSSR are currently in place in Indonesia in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The restrictions are implemented by local government with the approval of the Ministry of Health. It includes measures such as closing public places, schools, restricting public transport, and limiting travel from and to the restricted areas. On 7 January 2021, the Ministry of Home Affairs decreed the rename of the measure in Java and Bali into the Community Activities Restrictions Enforcement or CARE.

Prior to the implementation of CARE, the government had implemented large-scale social restrictions (LSSR) which took place in a number of regions in Indonesia.
