Thanal is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language action thriller film directed by Ravindra Madhava in his debut. [1] The film is produced by Annai Film Production starring Atharvaa and Lavanya Tripathi in the lead roles alongside Ashwin Kakumanu. [2]

Production

After Pattathu Arasan (2022), in early-February 2023, Atharvaa was announced to feature in his next film titled Thanal directed by Ravindra Madhava in his debut. [3] The film is produced by Annai Film Production. [4] The film stars Ashwin Kakumanu in his debut as the antagonist, alongside Lavanya Tripathi. [5] The technical team consists of Justin Prabhakaran as its music composer, Sakthi Saravanan as its cinematographer, [6] Kalaivannan as its editor and Karthik Netha as its lyricist. [7]

Principal photography got wrapped during its announcement in February 2023. [8]

Release

Thanal is scheduled to release in theatres on 12 September 2025. [9] Earlier it was scheduled for 29 August 2025. [10]
