Vellore, also natively spelt as Velur, is a sprawling city and the administrative headquarters of Vellore district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of the Palar River in the northeastern part of Tamil Nadu and is separated into four zones that are further subdivided into 60 wards, covering an area of 76.09 km2 and housing a population of 315128 as reported by the 2011 census. Erode Venkatappa Krishnasamy Sampath, usually referred to as E. V. K. Sampath was a prominent politician from Tamil Nadu, India. He was an advocate of the Dravidian Movement of Periyar E. V. Ramasamy and was considered by some as his political heir. He later split from Periyar's Dravidar Kazhagam to form Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) along with C. N. Annadurai. Tamil Nadu Government Multi-Super-Speciality Hospital is a 400-bed government-owned super-speciality hospital in Chennai, India. It is located at the Omandurar Government Estate on Anna Salai and was opened in February 2014. Originally built as Tamil Nadu legislative assembly and secretariat complex in 2010 to house the assembly hall, secretariat and offices of the chief minister and cabinet ministers, the complex was later converted into a super-speciality hospital. It was built in 1.93 million sq ft. at a total cost of ₹ 4,250 million in 2010.
Perundurai Road is one of the major arterial roads in the city of Erode in India. Running from the centre of the city towards the west, the road starts from Amma Flyover near Thanthai Periyar Government Hospital and terminates near the western suburb Perundurai. This 17 km road stretch further extends to the west connecting SIPCOT Industrial Park and joins NH 544 that enables the connectivity to Coimbatore and Kochi. The commercial and residential establishments along this road make it as the growth identifier of Erode, forecasting the development towards the west. The width of the road is making it four-lane to most of the stretch while a few km of the stretch near the western end has been widened to six-lane carriageway.
Dr. Mehta's Hospital is a multi-specialty tertiary care facility with over 500 beds and two campuses located in Chetpet and Velappanchavadi. Founded in 1933, it is one of the oldest private medical institutions in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The hospital has over 600 practitioners across at least 80 medical specialties.
