The Baudelaire Label is an independent record label based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Artists currently signed to Baudelaire include Jon-Rae and the River, Jill Barber, Andrew Rodriguez, Matthew Barber, The Diableros, and Jewish Legend.

History

Founded in 2004 by Evan Newman, who had left his post as Head of A&R/Media Relations at V2 Records Canada, The Baudelaire Label was named Best Toronto Record Label in Now Magazine in 2006. [1] In 2007, The Baudelaire Label merged with Outside Music and Newman went to head both the Outside Music Label as well as Outside Music Management which represents Jill Barber, Sunparlour Players, The Hylozoists, and Matthew Barber. [2]

V2 Records Record label

V2 Records is a record label that was purchased by Universal Music Group in 2007 and sold to [PIAS] in 2013.

They come from Ontario. Andrew Penner grew up on a farm near Leamington, in the region nicknamed Canada's "Sun Parlour".

Del Barber is a Canadian independent folk, folk rock, Americana, and alternative country singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Barber has been nominated for and won a number of awards including a being nominated for a 2011 Juno Award for Love Songs of the Last Twenty in the category of Roots & Traditional Album of the Year - Solo. Later in 2011 he won two Western Canadian Music Awards for Independent Album of the Year and Roots Solo Recording of the Year. In 2012, Barber was nominated for a Canadian Folk Music Award in the category of Solo Artist of the Year. In 2013, he once again won the Roots Solo Recording of the Year for Headwaters at the Western Canadian Music Awards.
