The Blind Christ (Spanish : El Cristo ciego) is a 2016 Chilean drama film directed by Christopher Murray. [1] It was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival. [2]
Michael is a 30-year-old mechanic who believes he has experienced a divine revelation in the desert and has been bestowed with special powers. However, his village considers him crazy and dismisses his claims. One day, when he learns that a childhood friend has been injured in an accident, Michael sets out on a barefoot pilgrimage through the desert to find and heal him with a miracle.
During his journey, Michael meets vagabonds, hitmen, drug addicts, abandoned women, and people exploited by mining companies. They perceive him as a Christ-like figure who can alleviate their harsh realities. Despite the challenges and obstacles he faces, Michael perseveres, using his faith and abilities to help those he encounters.

It was selected as the Argentine entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards but it was not nominated. It won Best Ibero-American Film at the 4th Platino Awards.
The Untamed is a 2016 Mexican science fiction horror film written and directed by Amat Escalante. It was selected to compete for the Golden Lion at the 73rd Venice International Film Festival, with Escalante winning the Silver Lion for his direction.
Foxtrot is a 2017 internationally co-produced drama film written and directed by Samuel Maoz. It stars Lior Ashkenazi and Sarah Adler as a couple who are informed that their son, an IDF soldier, was killed in action.
Nomadland is a 2020 American drama film written, produced, edited and directed by Chloé Zhao. Based on the 2017 nonfiction book Nomadland: Surviving America in the Twenty-First Century by Jessica Bruder, it stars Frances McDormand as a widow who leaves her life in Nevada to travel around the United States in her van as a nomad. A number of real-life nomads appear as fictionalized versions of themselves, including Linda May, Swankie, and Bob Wells. David Strathairn also stars in a supporting role.
