The Brother Kite is an American alternative rock band, formed in Providence, Rhode Island in 2002. [1] The band consists of Patrick Boutwell on guitar and lead vocals; Jon Downs on guitar and vocals; Andrea Downs on bass guitar; Mark Howard on guitar, keyboard, and vocals; and Matt Rozzero on drums and sampler. [2] [3] [4]

In December 2004, American webzine Somewhere Cold ranked their self-titled debut album No. 9 on the 2004 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame list. [5] In February 2007, Somewhere Cold again voted their second album, Waiting for the Timeto be Right, No. 3 on the 2006 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame. [6]

In 2008, their song "Get On, Me" from the album Waiting for the Time to be Right was featured in the British television series Skins .

Mahogany are an electric music-based multidisciplinary media ensemble formed in Michigan in 1995 and currently working in Philadelphia, New York City, Chicago, and other locations. Waves Are Universal is the debut solo album from former Slowdive and Mojave 3 singer/guitarist Rachel Goswell. It was produced by David Naughton, and released by 4AD on June 14, 2004, in the UK and June 22, 2004, in the US. The album was recorded after production and touring for Mojave 3's album Spoon and Rafter resumed. The songs "Plucked" and "Sleepless & Tooting" appeared on Rachel's EP The Sleep Shelter, released prior to the album in May 2004, and both "Coastline" and "Plucked" were remixed and featured on a special single released in February 2005. Waves Are Universal was released to generally positive reviews, receiving an overall 66% positive rating on Metacritic. In December 2004, American webzine Somewhere Cold ranked Waves Are Universal No. 7 on their 2004 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame list.

Sennen are an English alternative rock band from London. Formed in Norwich, England, in 2002, the current line-up consists of Larry Holmes, Rich Kelleway, James Brown and Tim Kelleway (bass). The band's uncorrupted, oddly schizophrenic style has won them a loyal following across the world, and seen their music appear on hit US TV dramas such as True Blood and One Tree Hill. The band are named after the Ride song "Sennen", originally released on the Today Forever EP.

Kenotic is the debut studio album by American ambient/post-rock band Hammock. It was released in March 2005 by Hammock Music. Reception of the record was generally positive, and cemented their musical reputation before their EP Stranded Under Endless Sky was released later that year. In December 2005, American webzine Somewhere Cold ranked Kenotic No. 5 on their 2005 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame list."Through a Glass Darkly", "Winter Light", and "The Silence" were all based on Ingmar Bergman movie titles. The track "You May Emerge From This More Dead Than Alive" came from the dialog of Winter Light.

LN is a slowcore band from Ohio that has released several albums and EPs on California-based independent record label Velvet Blue Music. LN is primarily the work of artist Gary Murray. In December 2004, American webzine Somewhere Cold ranked the album Dirt Floor Hotel Part 1 No. 6 on their 2004 Somewhere Cold Awards Hall of Fame list.

Somewherecold Records is an American independent record label established in late 2004 by Jason T. Lamoreaux. The record company was founded in Lexington, Kentucky, but is currently headquartered in Shelbyville, Kentucky. It releases ambient, shoegaze, dream pop, slowcore, post-rock, space rock and drone music, with an international roster of artists spanning from the early 2000s to the present. Somewherecold Records has released music on vinyl records, compact discs, compact cassettes and digital audio formats, with global distribution through The Business.
