The Dylans were an alternative rock band formed in Sheffield, England, in 1991. The band released two albums before splitting in 1994. [1]
The band was formed in early 1990 by former 1,000 Violins guitarist, songwriter, and occasional singer Colin Gregory, now on bass guitar, Jim Rodger (guitar), and Andy Curtis (guitar). [1] They soon recruited Quentin Jennings (keyboards) and Garry Jones (drums), [1] continuing 1,000 Volins sixties-tinged retro style, but with a nod to the "baggy" scene of the time. [2] The band were signed to Beggars Banquet Records' "indie" subsidiary Situation Two (RCA Records in the United States), who released their debut single, "Godlike" in January 1991, which reached the top 10 of the UK Indie Chart. [3] They subsequently replaced Curtis with Andy Cook, [1] and released follow-up singles "Lemon Afternoon" and "Planet Love", before the band's Stephen Street-produced self-titled debut album was released in October 1991. [2] After extensive touring, the band returned in 1992 with the "Mary Quant in Blue" single, but further line-up changes ensued, with Jones and Jennings leaving, to be replaced by Craig Scott and Ike Glover. [1] With interest in the band growing in the United States, the band was signed to Atlantic Records, moving to the main Beggars Banquet roster in the UK for subsequent releases. Two further singles were followed by the band's swansong album, Spirit Finger on 18 April 1993. [1] In the face of disappointing sales, the band split later that year. [2] [3]
Tones on Tail was a British post-punk band formed in 1982, originally as a musical side project of Daniel Ash of the gothic rock group Bauhaus. Their music was described by one critic as "doom-and-dance-pop."
4AD is a British record label owned by Beggars Group. It was founded in London under the name "Axis" by Ivo Watts-Russell and Peter Kent in 1980 as an imprint of Beggars Banquet Records. The name was changed to 4AD after the release of the label's first four singles. Later that year, Watts-Russell and Kent purchased the label from Beggars Banquet to become an independent record label, and Kent sold his share to Watts-Russell a year later.
Beggars Banquet is the seventh British and ninth American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones, released on 6 December 1968 by Decca Records in the United Kingdom and London Records in the United States. Situation Two was a British independent record label founded in 1981 by Peter Kent as an offshoot of the Beggars Banquet label. The name is a reference to Bauhaus's old management company, Situation 1.

Between 10th and 11th is the second studio album by British rock band the Charlatans, released on 23 March 1992 through Situation Two, a subsidiary of Beggars Banquet Records. Shortly after the release of their debut studio album Some Friendly (1990), the band started writing new material. After some writing sessions in Birmingham and a tour of the United Kingdom, guitarist John Baker left the band. Mark Collins of Candlestick Park was drafted in; bassist Martin Blunt went through a series of personal issues that led to hospitalization in September 1991. Following this, they began recording their next album at Rockfield Studios in Rockfield, Monmouthshire, Wales.
The Hair and Skin Trading Company is a British drone / avant-noise group formed in 1991 by ex-Loop members Neil Mackay (vocals/bass) and John Wills (drums). Joined by Nigel Webb (Guitars) and Richard Johnston on samples, they released their debut album Jo in Nine G Hell on Beggars Banquet Records in 1992. They also played the Reading Festival that year, with tours of Europe, US and the UK, following their subsequent releases - with shows at CBGB's and the Knitting Factory, New York & Festivals such as C.M.J - New York, Roskilde Festival, Denmark and Phoenix Festival, United Kingdom.
Dean Wareham is an American musician and actor who co-founded the band Galaxie 500 in 1987. He departed from Galaxie 500 in April 1991 and went on to establish the band Luna. Following Luna's dissolution in 2005, Wareham has collaborated on albums with fellow Luna band member Britta Phillips, forming the duo known as Dean and Britta. They have also ventured into film composition, notably contributing to the soundtracks of Noah Baumbach's films The Squid and the Whale and Mistress America. In 2014, Wareham released a self-titled album and in 2015, he reformed Luna.
