The Fateful Dark is the third studio album from British heavy metal band Savage Messiah, released by Earache Records in Europe and Century Media Records in the USA. [6] [7]

Production

The band returned to Grindstone Studios in Suffolk, England and producer Scott Atkins (who they had worked with previously on their 2009 album Insurrection Rising [8] and 2012 album Plague Of Conscience [9] ) to record The Fateful Dark, between July and October 2013. [10]

Release

The album was released in Europe on 10 March 2014, by Earache Records, and then a little over a week later in the USA on 18 March 2014, by Century Media Records. [11]
As well as being released in standard CD and digital formats, The Fateful Dark was made available on a limited run of 1,000 Limited Edition gatefold vinyl records (400 on Black vinyl, 300 on Cross of Babylon Orange vinyl, 200 on Hellblazer Red/Yellow vinyl and 100 on Inconocaust Clear vinyl). [12]
In February 2014 an official music video for "Hellblazer" was released, directed by Tom Walsh and featuring contortionist and Game of Thrones star Pixie Le Knot. [13] [14]

Necroticism – Descanting the Insalubrious is the third album by British extreme metal band Carcass. It was released on October 30, 1991 through Earache Records. This album is the first to feature guitarist Michael Amott and marked the first time Carcass had recorded as a four-piece. Many of the tracks describe economical ways to dispose of dead bodies. Necroticism continues the move towards a predominant death metal sound which was started in Symphonies of Sickness, featuring songs with longer sections and complex structures, more akin to the then-burgeoning technical death metal subgenre.

<i>Diatribes</i> (album) 1996 studio album by Napalm Death

Diatribes is the sixth studio album by English grindcore band Napalm Death, originally released in 1996 on Earache Records. It was released as double 10" vinyl, regular CD, special digipak CD with space for the Greed Killing EP and MC. In 2010, Earache issued a re-release of Diatribes in a box set that also included the Greed Killing EP and the live album Bootlegged in Japan.

Earache Records is an independent record label, music publisher and management company founded by Digby Pearson, based in Nottingham, England, with offices in London and New York. It helped to pioneer extreme metal by releasing early grindcore and death metal records between 1988 and 1994. The label roster has since diversified into more mainstream guitar music, working with bands such as Rival Sons, the Temperance Movement, Blackberry Smoke and the White Buffalo. The company also hosted the 'Earache Express' stage at Glastonbury Festival in 2017 and 'The Earache Factory' at Boomtown Fair 2018.

Jesus "Jesse" Ernesto Pintado Andrade was a lead guitar player born in Mexico who at an early age moved to the US. He started in the grindcore band Terrorizer where he recorded the album World Downfall, the first album to feature Pete Sandoval who would later leave the band to join Morbid Angel. It was Jesse Pintado who coined the term "grindcore" for the first time, to describe a musical mixture of "noise and chaos" which he was developing at that time.

Organic Hallucinosis is the fourth studio album by Polish death metal band Decapitated. The album was released on 7 February 2006 in the United States, on 13 February in Europe and on 22 February in Japan. The release was followed by European and North American tours.

Enter the Grave is the debut album by the English thrash metal band Evile. Released on 27 August 2007 in Europe and on 25 September in North America and Japan, the album received generally favorable reviews and entered the UK Rock Chart at number 33. It was produced by Flemming Rasmussen and recorded at Sweet Silence Studios, Copenhagen, Denmark. Rasmussen had produced three Metallica albums, which raised the profile of the album's release. Savage Messiah (band)

Savage Messiah are an English heavy metal band formed in May 2007 in London. The band was formed by guitarist and lead vocalist Dave Silver and also consists of guitarist Joff Bailey, bassist Míra Sláma, keyboardist Carlos Alcalde De Lema and drummer Charly Carretón.

<i>Insurrection Rising</i> 2009 studio album by Savage Messiah

Insurrection Rising is Savage Messiah's first full studio album and was released on Candlelight Records on 19 October 2009. It was recorded at The Ecology Room studios in Deal, England. The band worked with Grammy Nominated producer Chris Tsangarides, famous for his production on such seminal albums as "Painkiller" by Judas Priest, "Tattooed Millionaire" by Bruce Dickinson as well as notching up production credits for bands such as Thin Lizzy, Black Sabbath, Y&T, Yngwie Malmsteen and more recently Biomechanical as well as many others. Recording for the album was finished in March and Scott Atkins was hired to mix the album.

Godflesh discography Band discography

The English industrial metal band Godflesh have released eight studio albums and six extended plays along with a number of singles, compilations and remix and live albums. The group formed in 1982 under the name Fall of Because, but they did not release any music until 1988 when Justin Broadrick and G. C. Green changed the project's name to Godflesh and recorded a self-titled debut EP. That EP, released through the independent label Swordfish, was met with underground success and has since been recognised as one of the first industrial metal releases, if not the first.

<i>Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light</i> 2012 studio album by Woods of Ypres

Woods 5: Grey Skies & Electric Light is the fourth studio album as well as the fifth and final studio release from Woods of Ypres, released two months after the death of multi-instrumentalist and frontman David Gold. On February 19, 2013 it was announced that Woods 5 had been nominated for a Juno Award for "Metal/Hard Music Album of the Year", along with the likes of Devin Townsend, Cancer Bats, and Ex Deo, an award that it went on to win.

Savages is the ninth studio album by American metal group Soulfly, released on September 30, 2013. The album is the first to feature drummer Zyon Cavalera, frontman Max's son, in a full-time capacity after the departure of David Kinkade in 2012. The first single from the album, "Bloodshed" featuring Max's other son Igor, debuted on the BBC Radio 1 Rock Show on August 6, 2013.
