The Game of Votes: Visual Media Politics and Elections in the Digital Era^[1] is a 2019 non-fiction book^[2] by Farhat Basir Khan,^[3] an Indian photographer and a faculty member at the AJK Mass Communication and Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia.

The book has a foreword by former President of India Pranab Mukherjee,^[1]^[4] which The Times of India called "incisive".^[4]

The Game of Votes is centred on the changing trends in elections^[1] and examines what Khan sees as the paradigm shift in political campaigning most evident in the campaigns of Barack Obama, Donald Trump ^[5] and Narendra Modi.^[2]

The book was published by SAGE in August 2019.^[6]

Pranab MukherjeeBR was an Indian politician and statesman who served as the 13th president of India from 2012 until 2017. In a political career spanning five decades, Mukherjee was a senior leader in the Indian National Congress and occupied several ministerial portfolios in the Government of India. The 2016 United States presidential election was the 58th quadrennial presidential election, held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016. The Republican ticket of businessman Donald Trump and Indiana governor Mike Pence defeated the Democratic ticket of former secretary of state and First Lady of the United States Hillary Clinton and the United States senator from Virginia Tim Kaine, in what was considered a large upset. Trump took office as the 45th president, and Pence as the 48th vice president, on January 20, 2017. <i>The Plot to Hack America</i> Non-fiction book by Malcolm Nance

The Plot to Hack America: How Putin's Cyberspies and WikiLeaks Tried to Steal the 2016 Election is a non-fiction book by Malcolm Nance about what the author describes as Russian interference in the 2016 United States elections. It was published in paperback, audiobook, and e-book formats in 2016 by Skyhorse Publishing. A second edition was also published the same year, and a third edition in 2017. Nance researched Russian intelligence, working as a Russian interpreter and studying KGB history.

During his term as President of the United States, Donald Trump made tens of thousands of false or misleading claims. The Washington Post's fact-checker had tallied the number as 30,573 by January 2021, an average of about 21 per day by the end of his presidency. The Toronto Star had tallied the number of false claims as 5,276 by June 2019, an average of 6.1 per day. Characterized as a use of the firehose of falsehood propaganda technique, commentators and fact-checkers have described the scale of his mendacity as "unprecedented" in American politics, and the consistency of these falsehoods became a distinctive part of both his business and political identity. Trump often denied having made false or controversial statements.

Former U.S. representative Joe Walsh's campaign for President of the United States in the 2020 election began on August 25, 2019, when he announced his candidacy during an interview on ABC's show This Week, concurrently with the release of a video and a tweet. Walsh was challenging incumbent Donald Trump for the Republican nomination, along with former Governor of Massachusetts Bill Weld. Walsh had been a strong supporter of Trump's during the 2016 election but had gradually become disenchanted with the President, describing him as "morally unfit". In view of Trump's high popularity among Republicans and Walsh's own history of controversial statements, Walsh was considered a long-shot candidate for the nomination. He announced the suspension of his campaign on February 7, 2020, after poor results in the Iowa caucuses.

The Comey Rule is an American political drama television miniseries, based on the book A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership by former FBI director James Comey. The miniseries stars Jeff Daniels as Comey and Brendan Gleeson as President Donald Trump. The two-part miniseries was aired from September 27 to September 28, 2020 on Showtime.
