The Gin Club is an Australian folk rock band formed in Brisbane, Queensland in 2004. The band formed when the various members met while frequenting an open mic night at Brisbane pub O'Malley's. [1] [2] The Gin Club have won three Q Song awards [3] and have toured in Canada [4] and the United States. [5]

Hungry Kids of Hungary were an Australian four-piece indie pop band from Brisbane, Queensland. The band consisted of Dean McGrath, Kane Mazlin, Ben Dalton and Ryan Strathie. The band released two studio albums, both peaking inside the Australian top 30.

Robert Michael Medew is an Australian singer-songwriter who fronted The Screaming Tribesmen, which formed in Brisbane in 1981. Medew has written or co-written a number of independent hits, "Igloo", "Date with a Vampyre" and "I Got a Feeling", which peaked at number seven on the Billboard Hot Modern Rock Tracks college charts.

26 (band)

26 is an Australian musical outfit founded in 2004 by friends Nick O'Donnell and Drew Fellows (keyboardist/vocals), who later recruited Ross Duckworth (bass/vocals) and Iain Wilson (drums/vocals). Originally categorised as indie rock, 26 has since employed a variety of guest artists and choirs to produce a sound that is unique to the band.

The Medics are an Australian rock band formed in Cairns, Queensland in 2007. In April 2010 they moved to Brisbane. The band were formed by Emma Andrews, Jhindu Lawrie, Charles Thomas and Kahl Wallis. They later expanded to a five-piece with Andrew Thomson joining. Andrews left the band, reducing it back to four members. They are mentored by Lawrie's father, Coloured Stone's Bunna Lawrie.

Ben Salter is an Australian musician currently based in Hobart, Tasmania, in addition to being a member of bands including Giants of Science, The Gin Club, The Wilson Pickers, Hownowmer and The Young Liberals.

Andrew Morris is a musician from Brisbane, Queensland. He is a former member of Palladium and is part of The Wilson Pickers, performs in a duo with Danny Widdicombe and has a solo career. In 2008 he won the Grant McLennan Memorial Scholarship.

Tria Mera

Tria Mera are a heavy metal band from Brisbane, Australia. Officially formed in 2010, the group consists of guitarists Juz Cook and Ian Konrad, bassist Mike Radeck, and drummer Matt McRae. The band name is Greek for "Three Day", though referred to commonly as "Third Day", as it appears in the movie White Noise 2: The White Light. Tria Mera's musical style is heavy metal, but has been compared to the styles of modern European metal due to the melodicism found throughout their music.

The Cairos were a Brisbane musical group signed to Island Records Australia. The band formed in Brisbane in 2007 and consisted of members Alistar Richardson on vocals and guitar, Alfio Alivuzza on guitar, Reuben Schafer on bass and Jacob Trotter on drums.

A Breach of Silence is an Australian metalcore band from Brisbane, formed in 2010. They consist of Mat Cosgrove (guitar), Kerrod Dabelstein (guitar), Blair Layt, Rhys Flannery, and Daniel Trickett (drums). Since formation they have released three albums and toured internationally.

Halfway is a rock band from Brisbane, Australia. The group have released seven studio albums. Their most recent release Restless Dream is a collaboration with First Nations elder Bob Weatherall, and it was nominated at the 2021 ARIA awards in the category of Best World Music Album.

Carol Lloyd (Australian singer) Australian musician

Carol Ann Lloyd (1948–2017), born as Carol Ann Cramb, was an Australian singer, songwriter, composer, and advertising executive. She was described as "Australia's original rock chick" for her role in the Brisbane-based bands Railroad Gin (1973–75) and Carol Lloyd Band, as well as her solo career. She was recognised for her long, curly red hair, which was insured with Lloyd's of London for $100,000. Carol Ann Lloyd died on 13 February 2017 due to complications from her interstitial pulmonary fibrosis and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diagnosed four years earlier.
