The Grief of Others is a 2015 American tragedy film written and directed by Patrick Wang. It is based on the 2011 novel The Grief of Others by Leah Hager Cohen. The film stars Wendy Moniz, Trevor St. John, Rachel Dratch, Chris Conroy, Sonya Harum and Mike Faist.

The film was received with positive reviews. Rotten Tomatoes gives a score of 92% based on 9 reviews, with an average score of 7.6/10. [4] At Metacritic it scored 78% based on reviews from 8 critics, considered "Generally favorable reviews". [5]
The New York Times said "It's an artful portrait of a world that refuses the order we try to impose on it when we close ourselves off to heartache, doubt and pain." [6]
Variety said the film is "A delicate, elliptically structured portrait of six wounded souls coping with the aftermath of tragedy." [7]
The Los Angeles Times said "Harder to miss, however, in every grainy 16mm shot and heartfelt performance is the movie's understated soul, as Wang guides us, sometimes awkwardly, usually touchingly, from isolation and secrets into understanding and connection." [8]
Wendy Moniz is an American television actress. Her roles include Dinah Marler in the CBS soap opera Guiding Light, as Rachel McCabe in Nash Bridges, and as Louisa Archer in The Guardian. From 2013 to 2014, Moniz starred as Elaine McAllister in ABC drama series Betrayal. Moniz later had recurring roles as Laura Moretti in House of Cards (2015–2016), and as Governor Lynelle Perry in Yellowstone (2018–present).

Sonya Blade is a fictional character in the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise by Midway Games and NetherRealm Studios. A mainstay of the franchise, Sonya has also appeared in various media outside of the games. Reception to the character has been generally positive, with respect to her role as one of Mortal Kombat's primary female fighters. Though, some of her outfits in the games have received criticism.
Rachel Susan Dratch is an American actress and comedian. After she graduated from Dartmouth College, she moved to Chicago to study improvisational theatre at The Second City and ImprovOlympic. Dratch's breakthrough role was her tenure as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 1999 to 2006. During her time on SNL, she portrayed a variety of roles including Debbie Downer. She has since occasionally returned to SNL as a guest portraying Senator Amy Klobuchar.
