Cimarron is a 1981 Emmylou Harris album that, like its predecessor, Evangeline, was composed mostly of outtakes from other recording sessions that had not fit into any of Harris' other albums. As a result, critics at the time complained that the album was "choppy" and lacked a unifying sound. Nonetheless, the album did well on the U.S. country charts, and featured three top-ten country singles: "Born to Run", "If I Needed You", and "Tennessee Rose." It was nominated for a Grammy in 1982 for Best Country Vocal Performance, Female. In 2000, Eminent Records issued Cimarron for the first time on CD, with new liner notes and a bonus track, "Colors of Your Heart."
Tell Me Why is the début album by country music artist Jann Browne. Three singles from the album rose to positions on the Billboard Country Singles charts: "You Ain't Down Home" at #19, "Tell Me Why" at #18, and "Louisville" at #75. Also featured on the album is a cover of The Davis Sisters' "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know," a duet with veteran rockabilly artist Wanda Jackson. Three Chord Country and American Rock & Roll is the debut album of American country music artist Keith Anderson. It features the singles "Pickin' Wildflowers", "XXL", "Every Time I Hear Your Name", and "Podunk", all of which charted in the Top 40 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts. A remixed version of the title track, featuring Steven Tyler of the rock band Aerosmith, was to have been released as the album's fourth single, but this single mix was withdrawn before it could chart, and replaced with "Podunk" as the fourth single. The album includes ten of his greatest hits from his first three studio albums: his 1994 self-titled debut, 1996's Between Now and Forever and 1997's The Right Place, as well as "From This Moment On", his 1998 duet with Shania Twain. Two new tracks, "How Long" and "The Way You Look at Me", are also included. The former was released as a single, peaking at #56 on the country charts in 2000.
