The Highway Rat is a 2017 short stop motion computer animated television film based on the picture book of the same name written by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler. Directed by Jeroen Jaspaert, the film was produced by Martin Pope and Michael Rose of Magic Light Pictures, London, in association with Orange Eyes Limited and Triggerfish Animation Studios.

It was first broadcast on BBC One on 25 December 2017 [1] before being released on DVD in February 2018 by Magic Light Pictures.
