Sigur Rós is an Icelandic post-rock band from Reykjavík, active since 1994. Known for their ethereal sound, frontman Jónsi's falsetto vocals, and their use of bowed guitar, the band's music incorporates classical and minimal aesthetic elements.

It comprises eight untitled tracks, divided into two parts: the first four tracks are lighter and more optimistic, while the latter four are bleaker and more melancholic. Ágætis byrjun is the second studio album by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, released on 12 June 1999. The album was recorded between the summer of 1998 and the spring of 1999 with producer Ken Thomas. Ágætis byrjun represented a substantial departure from the band's previous album Von, with that album's extended ambient soundscapes replaced by Jónsi Birgisson's now signature cello-bowed guitarwork and lush orchestration, using a double string octet amongst other chamber elements.

They have frequently performed live and in the studio with Sigur Rós. In 2009 Magnús Trygvason Eliassen and Guðmundur Vignir Karlsson joined the group on a permanent basis.
Sundlaugin is a recording studio located near Álafoss in the town of Mosfellsbær in Iceland known for being the recording and rehearsal location of post-rock band Sigur Rós. The location was originally a swimming pool built in the 1930s which had been abandoned when Sigur Rós purchased it in 1999 and converted it and adjacent buildings into a studio.
"Seoul" is the second release from the Icelandic quartet Amiina. It is also the first single from their first album, Kurr. It was self-released on 6 November 2006 in Europe and released by The Worker's Institute on 7 November 2006 in the USA. In January 2007, it was made available on iTunes by the Danish label Rumraket.
Kitchen Motors Family Album a compilation album released in 2006. It came into being two years after the celebration of Kitchen Motors' 5 year anniversary on May 1, 2004. The album features mostly previously unreleased songs by the artists and bands who have worked with Kitchen Motors since it started in 1999. For some artists this marks their debut under a solo name, e.g. Sigur Rós front man and vocalist Jón Þór Birgisson contributes a track under the name Frakkur, while Múm band member Gunnar Örn Tynes makes a contribution under the name illi vill. While Auxpan is contributing with a song called "Ugla" and Amiina has composed a song of the same name they bear no resemblance to each other.
Seabear is an Icelandic seven-piece indie-folk band from Reykjavík. Although hailing from Iceland, they sing primarily in English. They are signed to the Morr Music record label.
"Hilli " is the second single from the album Kurr released by Icelandic band Amiina. The song features American musician Lee Hazlewood in his last recording and collaboration. The vocal parts consist of Lee telling a story accompanied by a reworked version of the song "Hilli" whose original version is available on Kurr.

This album has references to the bands EP Re Minore as the tracks "Ásinn", "Púsl" and "Sicsak" are re-worked versions of the songs "Ásinn", "Þristurinn" and "Tvisturinn" from that release. Additionally, the track "Mambó" is a re-worked version of the song "Ammælis" from the "Seoul" single.

"Rafstraumur" is a song written by Jón Þór Birgisson, Orri Páll Dýrason, Georg Hólm of Icelandic post rock band Sigur Rós. The song was originally recorded throughout 2012 and 2013 at the Sundlaugin Studio in Mosfellsbær, Iceland for inclusion on the band's seventh studio album, Kveikur. The record appears as the seventh track on the album. The record was released to radio on November 18, 2013 as a promotional single for Kveikur.
Shelter is the fourth studio album by French shoegaze band Alcest. It was released on 17 January 2014 via Prophecy Productions. The album's name is related to the album's overall concept of shelter, "a safe place to escape, this secret thing we all have when life is going too fast and you are full of anxiety." The album marks a significant stylistic shift for the band, fully embracing the band's shoegaze and dream pop influences while eliminating the previous metal influences, with Rolling Stone writing that the album has "more in common genetically with Sigur Rós than Satyricon."

Fantômas is the third album by amiina released in late 2016 was originally conceived as a score to the silent movie of the same name, Fantômas. It premiered at a screening of the silent movies in Paris 2013 together with music by James Blackshaw, Tim Hecker, Loney, Dear and Yann Tiersen who also curated the event.
