Reception

The album was met with generally positive reviews. About.com gave it a 4 out of 5 star stating that, "vocalist Shana Halligan and producer/composer Kiran Shahani, the Los Angeles duo known as Bitter:Sweet, have produced a perfectly pleasant bossa nova/electro-pop record," but criticizing the album's similarity with Morcheeba, Portishead, Zero 7, and Goldfrapp. Blogcritics also gave it a good review and asked "what else would you name something that makes beautiful music tinged with a slow seductive shade of melancholy?" Allmusic's editorial review gave the album 3.5 stars, stating "it all adds up to an album that captivates not by virtue of real originality, but by combining familiar elements in consistently enjoyable ways." From tha Roota to tha Toota is the second album from the hip hop duo Field Mob released under the now defunct recording label MCA Records, currently distributed by Geffen Records. It was released to stores on October 22, 2002. The title of the album is a colloquial southern United States reference to making use of an entire pig - from the snout to the tail. The LP spawned the Jazze Pha produced single "Sick of Being Lonely" which reached #18 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and #5 on the US Billboard Hot Rap Tracks charts in 2002. The soundtrack album for The Devil Wears Prada was released by Warner Brothers/WEA on July 11, 2006. It includes popular songs by U2 and Madonna, and work by Alanis Morissette and Jamiroquai, many of which were used for significant scenes in the film. The film also contains the Blackliquid Remix to DJ Colette's hit single, "Feelin' Hypnotized". However, "Suddenly I See" by KT Tunstall, which plays over the opening credits, is not included on the album, nor are some other tracks like Bitter:Sweet's "Our Remains" and Madonna's "Jump", to the disappointment of many buyers. "Dirty Laundry" is a song recorded by American recording artist Kelly Rowland, for her fourth studio album, Talk a Good Game (2013). Co-written and produced by The-Dream, the R&B ballad was serviced to radio as the album's second single on May 15, 2013, and was released for digital download on May 21, 2013, through Republic Records. The record candidly documents the time in Rowland's life after the release of her debut album Simply Deep (2002); Rowland speaks of her envy of former groupmate Beyoncé's solo success and the domestic abuse she suffered during a previous relationship.
