Greg Prato's review in allmusic said little about the album's content, noting only that it is easily distinguishable from the work of other bands that Noel Redding had worked with. Prato concluded with a prediction that "only the most extreme Noel Redding fans will be curious to give The Missing Album a spin". [1]

Obsession is the seventh studio album by English rock band UFO, released in 1978. This was the final studio album to feature Michael Schenker on lead guitar until he returned to the band in 1993. A single from the album, "Only You Can Rock Me" / "Cherry", was also released in 1978. So too was the band's first 3-track EP "Only You Can Rock Me", "Cherry" / "Rock Bottom", reaching No. 50 in the UK. The album was recorded at an abandoned post office in Los Angeles.

The Noel Redding Band was an English-Irish folk rock supergroup that was formed in Clonakilty, County Cork, in 1974. Comprising the bass guitarist, rhythm guitarist and vocalist Noel Redding, the vocalist and keyboard player Dave Clarke, the lead guitarist Eric Bell and the drummer Les Sampson, the band released two albums – Clonakilty Cowboys (1975) and Blowin' (1976) – before disbanding in 1978.
Hater was an American rock supergroup that formed in Seattle, Washington in 1993. The band formed as a side project mostly under the direction of Soundgarden bassist Ben Shepherd. Additional members included Soundgarden drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist John McBain, bassist John Waterman for the self-titled album, Devilhead vocalist Brian Wood, brother of Mother Love Bone vocalist Andrew Wood, and Alan Davis on bass for The 2nd.

Disc four is a majority of the July 4, 1970, concert at the Atlanta International Pop Festival with five songs missing from the set.
